smoked tails look good. but why smoke a headlight? people upgrade headlights to make them brighter. why decrease the output? unless you live int he city or something...

IMO smoked headlights look ridiculous. Those look kinda shady though, not enough information about what exactly they are and how they install. The pictures suck too and I don't imagine the owner of the Gallardo bought tint film off ebay. Just ahunch

Tinting film is wonderful..you can get the look you want without effecting the actual headlight (easy to remove)...which is an amazing plus, as tinting tails or headlights is illegal in most states. If your going to do it though, consider just getting lamin-x..it's a great product, works perfect..and the company stands behind it. Another bonus over spray tinting the stock lighting is, it offers increased protection against rocks and other things that may be kicked up toward the front of your car.

Since when did he want to smoke his headlights? The ebay title is "BMW E36 92-99 Coupe SMOKED Taillight film tint".

Most of the forum sponsors and supporting vendors also carry Lamin-X. If you decide to not smoke your lights, get the clear anyways to prevent pitting.

there is film like that for all lights, head's included...not sure if he thought i was gonna do my heads, but...nope. not me. just the tails/corners/sides...didn't know if this stuff was any good as ive never messed w/ it personally...
thanks, i checked out that lamin-x and it looks like the "same" product, only its more then likely a seriously inferior one (the ebay one bein the crappy one :) ). does the charcoal provide a nice red when the lights are on/brakes applied, does anyone know? I was thinking film b/c if i was to get pulled over for them, i can pull a "sry sir, i didn't know...lemme get rid of that for ya real quick and you can avoid giving me a ticket" routine. i don't know that they are illegal or not here, but i don't see the old blackout covers people used to use around here...
thanks again fellas !

Yea you still get a good bright light in the day time..still very safe, if your worried about it at all, there are LED based high output replacement bulbs you can get to make it even brighter...and they even have ones that won't throw error codes now :P

I got the ones for my last car from http://www.autolumination.com I know a couple other people here had good success with this site too.. my only concern is that normal LED bulbs throw errors on the OBC. I suggest reading up on resistors and led bulbs on the forums before purchasing, done right it's the perfect answer, a ton brighter and they'll all outlast your car easy. Ohh, and http://ledcalc.com/ is your friend.

I was behind a VW with blacked out tails. You could barely see the tail lights illuminating until I was 3 car lengths away. Looked really cheap and tasteless "ricer".

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion..but his lights were not visible because he used either black paint or a black paint/clear coat mix on them..tinting film does not decrease light output enough to be dangerous... and honestly you guys throw around the word "ricer" too much, it's just becoming a synonym for different :shifty
