Yeah I'm new to the bimmer forums. I'm pretty sure this has been asked a billion times, but what are the odds of finding a pristine '88 - '90 325is for a reasonable price. I've noticed the price ranges are insane; from 2k to like 6k.
Also, if theres a chance at buying a specific year, which one is better, if any. Thanks guys.

You have no chance of finding a decent one for a good price here, everyone thinks their car is gold and worth its weight in it. Honestly Im sick of seeing the over-priced E30s on this sites. Some of them are selling for more then what my dad traded his in for in 93 with 60k miles on it!

$2k for a clean example is insane? What are you expecting to pay?

I have noticed that you can barely find one under $2000 even if it needs work or towed..

And as supply slowly over takes demand, the prices will go higher as well. That's just the way it is, especially with "classic" vehicles that are being "modded" or simply "maintained" just to keep them in good running condition. Plus, besides time taking its toll on these babies, we see more and more of them being wrecked and up for sale as parts cars, making road worthy ones even more scarce!

I've been watching sales of 1990 325IS's: most of them were in good condition, besides some cosmetics, and they sold around 4K. No less than 3 and no more than 6. I have 2K toward the car in cash right now, I think 2 more and hopefully I'll be able to buy one during the early summer. Thats if one will be available. I love the looks and majority of the engineering that went into the design, however I don't know how it drives, how it handles, I've never even sat in one,. Just thinking if its worth the hassle?

Yes it is, beyond a doubt...do your self a favor...find one locally on auto trader, go test drive it. All your doubts will go away. The e30 is a special machine...I don't even know how to discribe it other then raw..animalistic and fun as hell :buttrock

yeah i think that for the price you'd usually buy the mint one, you can probably restore one thats not mint. lol
