Guys - I regretfully announce that I'm parting ways with my M3. It has been four great years....I love this car! I found a great deal on a Porsche though, so it's time to move on to something new. My M3 is on eBay with a reserve of $8k. Take a look!

1997 BMW M3 – Excellent condition, meticulously maintained by responsible and professional adult owner. 168k miles, runs excellent, needs nothing. This car has is loaded: sunroof, leather interior, Sony CD Player, power windows, power door locks. Clean 5 speed E36 M3 coupes are getting harder and harder to find. Fun to drive and turns heads!

Body

Clean Helrot Red exterior over black leather interior; garaged at both home and at the office
Clear rear tail lights; OEM
Clear turn signals; OEM
Clear side markers; OEM
Tinted windows
Spoiler
The body is near perfect, and that’s no coincidence! I’m the guy that chooses the worst parking space in the lot just to be as far away from all other cars as possible

Performance

Bilstein shocks
M Contour wheels – 17x7.5 front/ 17x8.5 rear; Yokohama AVS ES100 all the way around (245 rear, 225 front)
K&N drop in filter (just cleaned and oiled)
UUC Transmission Mounts
UUC Big Boy Clutch Stop

Stereo

Sony CD Player – very nice head unit; plays MP3s and has a direct input for your iPod

Maintenance

I’ve meticulously maintained my E36 M3. The previous owner and I have kept all service records (see picture below) and had the oil changed every 3000 miles. The car is in excellent mechanical condition.

New power steering pump/ hoses – this is a common failure point on the M3. Some folks choose to take a shortcut and fix this using hose clamps; I opted to buy all new OEM parts
Recently changed transmission fluid using Royal Purple synchromax
Recently installed new serpentine and AC belts
Water pump with requisite aluminum thermostat housing

Other:

Lighted chrome M3 shift knob (looks great at night)
Frequently hand waxed using Mother’s Gold Class products
Clean Carfax – this car has never been involved in any kind of accident. Please email me (nickt93@yahoo.com) if you would like to see a copy of it.
Non-smoker – I would never let anyone smoke in my M3!
Car has been owned in the South for its entire life (Kentucky/ Tennessee/ Georgia); no need to worry about rust!

I have many service records for the car, including oil changes every 3,000 miles. I absolutely love this car and planned to never sell it, but I got a great deal on another car. I hope that someone else can get as much enjoyment out of this M3 as I have over the past 4 years.

Luxury package – this includes the much softer and durable Napa leather and leather inserts on the door panels. I replaced the “slatted” front grill from the luxury package and added the mesh version and front lip spoiler with the sportier version from the non-luxury package M3.

This car has been well maintained and never abused. Always garage kept next to my pristine 1997 Toyota Supra Turbo! I love cars and have spared no expense on the M3.

I drive this car daily on my 40 mile+ daily commute, so almost all of the miles are highway miles. The previous owner used the car similarly. Any mechanic will tell you that a car with 100k highway miles will be in better shape than a car with even 50k city miles. I know plenty of folks with 200k+ BMWs; this car has many more miles and years left in it.

Pickup:

I’m located in Atlanta. If you do not live in the Atlanta area, I would be more than happy to pick you up at the airport in your new M3! If Nashville, Tennessee is a better pickup location for you this could probably be arranged, as most of my family lives in Nashville and it’s always nice to get away for a weekend.

In support of full disclosure, here are some things to note:

There are a few paint chips on the front bumper and grill; I hardly notice them anymore, but thought it was worth mentioning
The driver’s side fog light lens is cracked. This is a really easy and inexpensive fix, just haven’t had the opportunity to get it done yet

These are all very small things, but I want to make sure I provide as much information as possible to the buyer.

Please feel free to email me with any questions. Additionally, I would be more than happy to discuss the car via telephone. You can call me with questions at 678-637-2570. Local Atlanta buyers are invited to come test drive the car anytime. If you drive it, I guarantee you will buy it!

Beautiful car! If I was still in the market you'd have an offer immediately.

Oh...and what's the story on the flat black Miata?

Ahh yes, the flat black Miata! That's my track car. I picked it about a year ago for a steal on eBay. I think a lot of folks were scared away by the paint, but it has grown on me considerably. It makes the car look halfway intimidating (Miatas need all the help they can get!).
