Yup, it's in the lighting FAQ forum.

Scroll down to see the stuff about color temperature (K stuff).

just so you dont have to read all of that, it is the temperature at which the bulb is burning... and it is measure in kelvins

3000k is a yellow
4300k is supposed to look like stock lighting
6000k is white (best lighting output)
7000k is white with a slightly blue tint
8000k has more blue in it
10,000k is very blue

I think 4300K is supposed to be white and have the highest light output.

4300k is oem and considered natural daylight white.

phillips 85122 bulbs are 4300k but they color shift to crystal white.
osram are also 4300k but they color shift to white then turn purplish pink when they go bad. (seen in audi's and volvo's)

All bulbs when they color shift lose intensity/output.

phillips 85122+ bulbs claim 4900k but produce 4300k they just do not color shift over time and stay true white instead of fading to crystal white.

3000k isnt true yellow. unless it has the yellow filter over the bulb also

phillips 85122yx are the only oem 3000k d2s/d2r bulb.
