View Full Version : Valve lash on S50B32 Avus95 04-15-2008, 05:51 PM I am a proud new owner of a 54k S50B32 and I would like to know what the valve lash specs are. I also believe a 40 weight is pretty commonly used in the S50B32 but others will chime in. Avus95 04-15-2008, 11:17 PM Yep. The engine should be bolted in and running by the weekend. Just working on cleaning up the valve cover and aluminium intake manifold. Also doing a valve adjustment. Dreamer99 04-15-2008, 11:20 PM For the valve adjustments I used 0.18"-0.23" on the intake and 0.28"-0.33" on the exhaust side. As for oil I am currently using Amsoil 5W40 oil and I am very happy with it. windnsea00 04-16-2008, 12:02 AM Yep. The engine should be bolted in and running by the weekend. I wouldn't mind looking into that swap...however in CA it is rather illegal (OBDII to OBDI). Would have to pay someone off lol. Avus95 04-16-2008, 12:06 AM Congrats! I have a year and a half to figure out what to do with emissions inspection.... Is that the factory recommended specs and also oil weight? bedema 04-16-2008, 12:57 AM may i ask what kind of engine was original in your ride? I thought all M coupe and M roadster are with s50b32 pumping out 321 hp!!! Sorry, I am not in the US, you guys might be getting something else. I had driven my friend's m coupe here in hk...man, that car was a beast, damn fast In the US for `98 M roadsters and `99-`00 M coupes we got the lame duck US E36 M3 engine which was not a true Motorsport engine but simply a stronger M52. It was 3.2 liters with 240hp...nice mid-range but top end was boring. Luckily the `01-`02 MZ3's here got the S54 engine :) |
