Thanks, well unfortunately I know nothing about the E65/66 04SSHD 04-15-2008, 07:10 PM Here are some pics from prepping for shadowline plus a little more sanding. I had some paint flaking from the last paint job due to bad prep work, I am going to smooth it out and blend the new paint and clear into the existing paint. scuffing and sanding the chrome for primer http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/bgdsub72/E38/019-3.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/bgdsub72/E38/023-2.jpg all primered up http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/bgdsub72/E38/025-5.jpg Paint damage to the pillar from the previous paint job http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/bgdsub72/E38/011-6.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/bgdsub72/E38/017-7.jpg this area will have to be blended because I am not repainting the while roof, I will lay some fresh base and then feather the clear on there and quickly reduce the transition edges so it will appear seamless Alan 04-15-2008, 07:12 PM Let me ask a question I'm sure there's a good answer to... Why go to all the trouble of sanding/filling/painting when that dent seems like a prime candidate for PDR? From the pics it looked nowhere near the edges of the panel. 04SSHD 04-15-2008, 07:41 PM Let me ask a question I'm sure there's a good answer to... Why go to all the trouble of sanding/filling/painting when that dent seems like a prime candidate for PDR? From the pics it looked nowhere near the edges of the panel. because there were two other small dents that are not eligible for PDR, plus I already needed to paint my front bumper, my rocker panels, my alpina lip, and new hood. Once the paint is already mixed it's not that much harder to spray another panel. puffdragon415 04-15-2008, 07:56 PM I am inspired also.
