I had some paint flaking from the last paint job due to bad prep work, I am going to smooth it out and blend the new paint and clear into the existing paint.

this area will have to be blended because I am not repainting the while roof, I will lay some fresh base and then feather the clear on there and quickly reduce the transition edges so it will appear seamless

Let me ask a question I'm sure there's a good answer to...

Why go to all the trouble of sanding/filling/painting when that dent seems like a prime candidate for PDR? From the pics it looked nowhere near the edges of the panel.

because there were two other small dents that are not eligible for PDR, plus I already needed to paint my front bumper, my rocker panels, my alpina lip, and new hood. Once the paint is already mixed it's not that much harder to spray another panel.

I am inspired also. Will wait for pics.

back in high school, i was able to get 6 off of cop cars successfully...

i also got 3 mercedes benz emblems, an old cadillac, and a jaguar (that was really hard to get off!)

i wish i would have kept the cop ones tho...

i miss being drunk in HS and not ever getting in trouble...

I appreciate what you said...seriously. I'm only 31... but seen a lot of life... that's all. BELIEVE ME... I'm not a saint... but in recent years I've lost a few close friends to really stupid things (drunk driving being a cause in a few). I went to the scene of an accident that killed 2 of my friends to find my deceased friends' college acceptance papers-and shoe-still there on the road. I, myself (as you may have read a while back) was almost killed by a drunk driver.. so I'm a little sensative to that. I don't want to see anyone else killed because of this. I do apologize for maybe coming off as a prix... certainly not my intention. It's just that some people think "It'll Never Happen To Them.." till it does.

Don't want to sound like a Parent... I'm just done burrying people I know because of Drunk Driving. BY ALL MEANS... have fun and rip it up...(I DID and STILL DO-even though I don't drink).. just be safe.. that's all. :cool

Again, Nice HD. I like the Corbin seats. HDSE slip-on mufflers? I had those on my Sporty but went with Vance/Hines on my Softail. More free-flowing. Nice rockets too. I've ridden a lot of the Plastic Fantastic's.... but can't get comfortable on them (6'2", 240). When I was hit by the drunk.. [they] took out my '06 Softail. I had the high flow air cleaner, Power Commander, 96" engine upgrade, and some other odds and ends (skull covers, side plate, etc..) Didn't have it long enough to do anything else. It was the first year for 200 rear tire too... great bike! I was a prospect with a large MC (I can't say which one) but VERY well known. I miss it man... and lookin' at your bike really motivates me to get another. I've been thinking of it since the crash (and the dealership I've used a few times is about 7 miles up the road from me) so it may be time to head on up!

I cant remember precisely but I recognize the face inside of a 7. Then I saw the same face riding the two wheels. It was a while back but Im usually driving all over the place so I dont remember exactly where I were.

Damn 2 wheel junkies. Nice bikes. I had a 2001 r1 blue and was totalled by a drunk. Sucker caught me on the rear tire causing me to wobble, ended up highsiding at about 80. Lucky to be here still, nuff said. Still ride tho on a 600 f4 and it's on the trickle.

I bought a new spray gun and wanted to try it out. I had the Alpina lip, the shadow line pieces, and the euro plate holder prepped so I laid down a layer base coat. Not too bad. I messed up on the rear bumper shadowline piece so I might have to redo that tomorrow.

latest update- clear is done. I messed up on the trunk so I will be redoing that today.

I am now a reseller for www.v-leds.com and I decided to sample their new SMT LED lights on my car. I purchased enough to do the entire interior and the two License plates lights. I am really happy with the light output and I will have some more updates on the interior lights when I am done painting.

I messed up the trunk lid last week when the spray gun started spitting out the paint because one of the settings was off, so I sanded it all back down and re primered it.

thanx man you inspired me lol.... i got a spray can of matched paint and now i'm touching up most of the stone chips, scratches, and a couple rust spots. i got the one fender done and it looks amazing. i wet sanded it, compounded and waxed and you can't even notice it.

The facelift consisted of two new 99-01 fenders, 99-01 corner lights, and 99-01 headlights for parts. Then I added the 99-01 scalloped headlights fillers, and brackets.

Eh I thought thats how you did... To much work, pre-lift FTW!
