Anyone on here use a roof rack, bmw OE or not, on their 740? I was thinking about getting one of those rocket boxes or maybe the OE BMW for long roadtrips. I hate minivans and wil lnever buy one no matter what people say. So for extra luggage on longer trips, I wouldn't mind storing it up on top in one of those travel boxes.

Your very brave, and I tow a 500lbs pop up with a motorcycle. But I would not top my ride with cargo box. Most the Cargo boxes I have seen use the molding or OEM roof racks to support them. I use the OEM racks when going skiing. Works fine. Haven't tried a box though.

I got roof racks from BavAuto.com and use them to carry a soft carrier with no more 50lbs. or so. It works great! Sorry, no pics.
