On Tuesday a friend and I were going south on Yonge Street just south of the 407 and at the light I saw a new 2001 yellow conv corvette. It was hot around 90 and the air was on I could not bother to turn it off and glanced over to the driver but he kept looking straight. I knew he wanted to merge over as it was a 3 lane going south but his merged into mine.
As the light changed I did not bother to launch hard just rev a bit 2000 rpm and jumped to 5500rpm in first. I looked to my right and he was still at the lights. I thought he was not going to bother race and then I slowed down and then I glanced to my right and crap there he was coming at full throttle. My friend was wondering why I slowed down as he could hear him laying tires off the line I said to him I didn't hear it and if I did was going to give him a good run. I quickly floored it and shifted to 2nd but was was already 1/2 length ahead of me and then I was gaining on him at around 6500rpm. I slowed down and moved to the left lane as it was open and then nailed 3rd and moved behind him at around 6000rpm I had to back off as I was all over his ass and the other lane there was cars around as this was around 6:15pm.
He moved to the open left lane with me up under his ass all the way and had to back off from using full throttle.
At the next light there were cars in front of us but I looked over to give him the thumbs up but he did not want to look over. I said to myself you ass if there was no cars in front of us I would go all the way this time and then give you a good spanking.

A funny thing happened after a bike came up about 10 mins later and motioned for me to roll down the windows I was saying what the heck does he want. After I did he said I saw the whole thing and you car is fast man it looks like I took him did you? I said I jumped him off the line and backed off as I did not see him coming and then after 2nd and 3rd I was all over him he said he saw it as my brakes light were coming on and his was not. I did not realize that I was touching me brakes as I was about 10feet from his bumper all the time and closing in and that was after backing off on the throttle.
The biker said what do you have under the hood just a M3 I said yes and a turbo he gave me the thumbs up and then we went off on our own.

I love it. Those vettes never suspect it. Guarenteed that guy is at the dealer right now looking at the Z06...

What kind of rear wheel hp are you putting down?
Is your car a 95? Have you changed your valve retainers???

The only time that I got the car dyno is when I had the Stage 1 turbo and the stage 2 intercooler and at 8lbs it was 325hp and 308ft/lbs of torque at the wheel and that was 2 years ago.

Then last year Feb I upgraded the turbo to the stage 2 and running the same stock compression but now running 10lbs. Karl figured I should be around 365-370hp and torque around the same. I can feel the difference the larger turbo makes a little lag below 3000rpm but it really tkaes off at 4200rpm all the way to 7000rpm.

At the end of summer I'm going to remove the cats and resonators and run a 3.0" pipe all the way to the Active muffler that I have using a external wastegate. I'm also changing the flywheel from the 95 from one from a 3.2L as it is about 6lbs lighter. I have a Active flywheel I took it out as I could not take the ratteling of the gears at idle when the air is on. Some people it does not bother but I want my car pretty quiet it must be age catching up to me. The flywheel does make the car rev quicker and feel lighter.

Sorry I forgot to reply no I did not change them the motor is stock other than the throttle body.
So far so good no problems with the car other than the stupid neck of the rad broke so I had to change it good thing I was driving slow as it was raining and only 1 minute from me work.

What is the neck of the rad?
I've also thought about the flywheel.

Secondly did you read the post on the valve retainers, and keeping the car at redline... That woried me. I was considering dropping the titanium ones in when I did the cams..
The car should pump out 340 at the wheels, which is plenty enough for me.. :)

Mine broke about 2 months ago day while I was driving and luckily I noticed the temp gauge going up to 3/4 as it always run in the center.

Greg what was the article on the valve retainers and reving it to redline I thought going to the titanium ones were to prevent valve float from over rev ?
Did you noticed any difference in the response as they say those are lighter ? Maybe I should get them as a insurance.
