6-disc CD changer ... sucks.
I don't know what the thing is. If I put in a brand new CD, it seems to play it better than older CDs. However, sometimes it plays right away, sometimes it takes 5 minutes to play, sometimes it never plays at all. It's like it's searching for a song to play and can never find it.
Some guys say it's the cartridge,
some guys say it needs to be cleaned,
some guys say it just sucks.
What will fix this for me once and for all?

the CDC sucks, but I would say the actual CD player needs to be cleaned.

With a store-bought cleaning CD (below), spray chemicals, compressed air, or something else?

Take it outside, and throw the peice of crap on the ground, then with a large hammer hit it repeatedly till its in hundreds of pieces. Do all this while listening to old rap that cusses way to much and makes white guys believe they are gansters.
I have bought two and both dont work, i have taken them apart and cleaned them and it doesnt really matter. they sux

Plik...time to move away from those old antiquated CDs and get hip! :)
Time to go with an MP3 or iPod...which all you need to do is chuck the tape player (if you don't have NAV...and get a BMW CD43 along with a DICE unit and an iPOD. :D No more skipping tracks when your on rough pavement etc...

there is a reset button on the CD unit. (little indented red button, you will need a pin or something to hit it) If memory suits me it is on the face of the CD unit next to the cartridge.
Mine would not read CD's at all for awhile and I was about to give up but i hit the reset switch and functionlaity returned for while, then I had to so it again. After the 3rd reset the CD unit works fine now....
