it doesnt blow that cold
when i want it to come through the front ports it comes out of the defroster ports, same thing with heating
but it will work rarely out of nowhere
does anyone know of a good shop in CA, near the valley or bay area that will fix this problem?
and what type of freon do i have to use? all i remember is the one im using isnt being sold anymore in CA because its bad for the ozone or something
thanks in advance, let me know if you need more info
god, 85F+ weather with leather seats and no AC....

The HVAC system runs on a complex vacuum network of servos. When there is a severe vacuum leak the system defaults to blowing out of the defrost vents.
It is too much to describe the process here. The best thing for you is to start reading -

wow cool thanks
so hows it going with trying to sell your 7?
and are these motors sensitive to the temp outside?
ill be on the freeway with the ac off and the temp will go 3/4 of the way on the temp gauge? it was about 85f though

LOL. Have not really try to sell the car as the wife is busy and she has not said anything yet.
If the car is cruising on the highway and temp goes up passed noon mark, chances are your thermostat or/and water pump is shot, fan belt is loose, fan clutch not engaging, cooling system is clogged and/or the aux electric fan switch/resistor are bad.
Ambient temp does not affect the temp gauge. The cooling circuit and failsafes will keep the car running at noon regardless of outside ambient temp on a properly maintained and tuned car.

lol good, try not to accidently let it slip out of your mouth, i HATE it when that happens to me.
im thinking thermostat, just because i never replaced it i think
and water pump, because it was leaking a few drops in the morning a while ago
i also have never flushed the radiator in about 3 to 4 years
my dad is never home, and my uncle is in the bay area, and BMW's are way more complicated than hondas, so im scared to try it myself lol

It is very costly to pay someone to do the HVAC as it is all labor. The water pump and thermostat job is fairly easy. Just make sure you use plenty of PB Blaster on all the bolts before you start. The bolts on the thermostat housing is easy to break off. Other than that it is a pretty simple and straight forward remove and replace job.

alright, thanks
i think im going to try and find the leak this weekend, when i have some time, hopefully it will just be a line that got disconnected, no damaged lines
and do you know what type of freon i have to use?
i dont want to do any of those conversions, i just remember the freon im supposed to use isnt being sold anymore because it was harmful or something? and this new one is supposed to work perfectly fine
