Not bad for a 9 year old car :alright
These pictures were taken with the color accent on the red of the brake calipers with the flash. Just so people can see how the calipers look.

Yep they're silver. It's a really easy DIY.
Thanks guys for the compliments!

Yeah we just did Dophineh's this weekend, I'll probably do mine when I get new headlight covers and replace my gaskets. I'm debating painting over the chrome headlight bezels too...

puffdragon415 04-14-2008, 12:05 AM Thats a damn nice car!

I did mine a few weeks ago and it looks great.
By the way excellent looking car man. I have said it once and ill say it again your car is one of the best looking ones here, i love it. Very nice
dophineh 04-14-2008, 02:44 AM (OT, but can I ask,... I noticed the pic that's B&W but with colored calipers. This is a VERY nice touch that I see on many pictures now adays. I'm pretty proficient with PS-and other design programs-and wondered how this effect is done? I can add color to B&W pics via paintbrush, of course, but how do I add back the natural color on just a portion of the pic? I appreciate it! Thanks!)
My friend has a new digital camera that will actually automatically do that effect. You select a color and it then makes everything black and white except for whatever is the color you selected.
In photoshop, I guess I would create two layers. The bottom layer is a b&w image. The top layer contains the cutouts with the colored areas from the original color image. I would make these cut outs using the polygonal lasso tool. This way you keep the original color. It's usually a simple job. :)
Gatsby740il 04-14-2008, 03:10 AM Are those Beyern wheels? What size? They really fit the car well!
She's a Real Beauty, board57796! GL with her! :cool

PS-- I was bored and the picture was the perfect size... so I went ahead and made you a signature pic! Lottsa free time tonight I guess! Feel Free to take and use (if you like it!) :rolleyes :cool

Awesome thanks! As you can see I'm already using your pic :)
The wheels are 20x10 rear 20x8.5 front Beyern Mesh wheels.
But yeah my camera has a setting on it called "Color Accent" and you just put the camera close to whatever color you want then it picks it up after you hit a button and "accents" that specific color.
Thanks for the compliments and new sig pic!
Joe-BMW 04-14-2008, 08:05 AM Beautiful car, but I'd lose that V12 badge. Kind of tacky.
Jayccel 04-14-2008, 11:33 AM Your ride is :drool:worthy~ Hot damn, what a sexy mofo :cool

Not tacky at all, imo. Keep it! :D
Gatsby740il 04-14-2008, 12:44 PM Hey Buck.. thought of something else. Whatever wax/polish you're using is, obviously, amazing! Might I also suggest an AMAZING cleaner wax/polish called Midnight Special (http://www.productioncarcare.com/index2.html) (<-- Click That, number #12 on the list!). It's formulated for dark colored cars.. applies with a damp wax pad, do the whole car and let her sit a bit, then it pushes off with ease (no matter how long it's been sitting there-direct sunlight or shade) leaving a DEEP finish and hiding towel marks and surface scratches completely!
I've used it for years now and would never use anything else. As I said.. whatever you're using is GREAT stuff (what is it?)... just another product to give-a-try sometime if you're interested!
Cheers! (Nice Sig! :stickoutt) :cool
Your car is shuweeet! Very nicely taken care of sir. And the red calipers are a somewhat subtle and tasteful mod.
Did you paint the headlight surrounds silver? I think I want to paint mine gloss black.
I wanted to try and paint mine black as well, but im debating if it will look good on my white 7. anyways Please take pics and stuff when doing it Burn.
p.s. I knew I saw dolphinehs painted.
mojocoggo 04-14-2008, 03:49 PM Perfect wheels and stance!
Reed Hunt 04-14-2008, 05:46 PM Beautiful car, but I'd lose that V12 badge. Kind of tacky.
I disagree (and I don't like excessive badging...).
I think the V12 emblem is a nice addition plus your car looks great (sounding like Tony the Tiger).

Well sir coming from you I'll take that as a mighty fine compliment! :)
It's one thing to slap a V12 badge onto a 740 or 5-series, but I don't see any huge harm in putting it on a car if it does indeed have a V12.
And thanks to everyone else! I appreciate the comments and to whoever asked, the polish I used this time was Turtle Wax Ice. Really helps with the door trim and makes the make shine. If I had more time I would have done Zaino.
victoriabmw27 04-14-2008, 09:38 PM I like the v12 badge too, it fits the car
