My name is Scott Vernon, and I have been the proud owner of BMW M3s for years now. I have a beautiful 2003 BMW M3 that I am looking to sell. This is not your run of the mill M3. I purchased this vehicle almost two years ago, and loved every minute of the ownership.

Let me tell you about the vehicle.
It is a 2003 BMW M3 with 45000 miles on the chassis. Manual Transmission. Silver exterior with black interior equipped with the Harmon Kardon Sound, Ipod, power/heated seats. From the day it was first sold as new it has had the Proform Protective film on the front and is still featured on Proform's website. http://proformauto.com/content.php?id=testimonials (next to the VW)

Shortly after taking ownership, the engine need to be replaced because of a spun bearing. True to my motto, "Go Big or Go Home," I sent the car to good friend and former BMW Dupont Racer Brant Campbell and Chuck Stickley to work their magic. The result is a truly outstanding powerplant. The total came to $20,000 worth of engine work and is far from a stock engine. If you have driven a stock M3, you will definitely feel the value. There are less than 10,000 miles on the new power plant. Daily driving would not be a problem, though it has been my weekend/fun car.

The car is in almost new condition. There is a small scuff on the driver's side door panel, and the sunroof cover has come off its track.

I really want this vehicle to have a good home and an owner that will appreciate it. I am asking $35,000 for it, though am motivated for a quick transaction. I have attached some pictures for you.

Feel free to call me any time or drop me an email. I live in Baltimore, MD (believe me the drive is worth it.) Look forward to doing some business.

I know Scott and this car very well, so i'll post up some stuff too....

The story with this car starts in June of 2006. I was working as a salesman for Len Stoler Porsche and this M3 was brought to me as a trade in for a 911C2. The M3 definitely stood out as an immaculate example of an e46M. The guy who traded it in with me was the original owner and was very particular with keeping his car mint. As soon as the deal was finalized Scott caught word of the car and jumped on it from his e36M3.

Scott has been using the car as a daily driver since, I believe, September 2006. Never track raced or autocrossed. Unfortunately for him, he had a spun bearing shortly after ownership which yielded it necessary to have a new S54 and trans put in. For those familiar with the name, the car was sent to Brant Campbell for the assessment and work. He's a top notch independent mechanic with work history ranging from DuPont Racing to BMW Racing driver. Brant did a Stickley motor swap on Scott's previous e36M3 and did the auto to manual swap on my e30. I cannot stress enough how meticulous and quality his work is. Stickley built him the S54 from a brand new crate s54, sent it to Brant, who dropped it in along with a whole new transmission setup. Anything that had any chance of being damaged was replaced - nothing spared - and tallied north of $20,000 after parts and labor. The break in period was strictly followed and has seen daily driver status ever since. Scott has all his work done with Brant and NorthWest BMW. Scott's passionate about his BMWs and follows all his service requirements to the T.

I took these pictures a couple months ago. Didn't have time to clean her up unfortunately, but I hope they give you an accurate idea:

Since you are talking about the majority of the high price for the car is in the engine you should post some engine shots, dyno graphs and talk what was done. Might help you get the price you are looking for, or at least some interest. Good luck with sale.

Awesome car and one hell of an engine. Ive driven this car and have known Brant, Mental Motorworks, who built the engine, for a while now. This isn't your normal M3.

Shouldn't the engine be replaced by BMW under warranty? What was done to the engine?
