I've been trying to egg a budddy into racing, and I've gotten him excited about Spec-E30 (actually, Skeen's race videos have gotten him excited!)

Does anybody know this car? Looks like a good deal, but pics are from 2002. Also, not sure what it would take to make an ITS E30 legal for Spec E30.

Probably not too much. Make the ABS functional and install the spec suspension + exhaust and that may be it. You'd have to go through the ITS car closely to make sure of course. I'd buy it w/o extra wheels and tires unless what he's selling it with is Spec E30 legal.

Carlos.

Don't know that car but there are several good, well sorted, Spec E30 cars for sale right now, especially in the Southeast!

Go to the www.spece30.com (http://www.spece30.com) site and look under classifieds. I've seen both the #164 car (near Atlanta) and the #800 car(near Raleigh, NC) run and both are good strong cars and nice guys!

Both have been raced with NASA-SE and have current log books. They are solid and ready to run.

Tale a look and consider them!

I'd agree with Jeff the ITS rules and Spec E30 don't match 1 for 1. Probably some work to do in order for it to be legal.

Better to buy something built specifically for the class imho.

No, the car is not for me, I'm way too deep into what I've got already!

I just realized that you have to be a registered user to view the classifieds on the Spec E30 website. Now I'm registered, and forwarded the info to my friend. Thanks for the heads-up. Max

Just saw this post, 4 hrs before the end of auction. I have not been around the car specifically, but I can tell you the seller is legit. Pretty nice guy, he has bought a few parts from me at the shop back a few years ago.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm the chump that Max is trying to egg on. I'm leaning towards buying a built spec car or getting one build for me.

Rob, where in VA are you? We are in Winston Salem and currently have 2 Spec E30 cars.

I'd look hard at both those cars on the Spec E30 site. Both are strong and well sorted.

The 800 car is close and it's fast! The other car, think it's the 164, is in Atlanta near Road Atlanta but they (these car guys) come to about every NASA-SE event.

Let us know if you have questions!

FYI - to undo an ITS car (properly prepared) back to SE30 regs would be a real headache and drain on the wallet.

Buy one of the sorted, raced SE30's for sale. The #164 car is super clean. Jeff is a really nice guy too.

I can barely say the same for Travis in the #800 car :nuts

Just kidding about Travis... Either car is a winner. Will save you a bunch of time and money over building one yourself... trust (us).
