Hello fellow BMW owners. I've purchased a Stage 1 Juicebox from Mr. Terry Burger a few months ago and haven't had a chance to install it. This was due to concern over warranty issues and the difficulty in installation. I've decided to go the Dinan route and get my 335 'chipped' from there.

So... I've decided to sell my unused S1 Juicebox for $100.00 (obo) shipping charges included. If you are interested please send me a PM. If I have posted on the wrong section of bimmerforums for this, I sincerely apologize to the moderaters.

Also is there anybody here that has gone the Dinan route? What are your impressions? Thanks.:cool

Remember....Dinan really doesn't protect you with the full warranty either. They will ignore it until a problem arises. But then it's a "who's fault is it" problem.

I thought Dinan worked together with BMW? Am I wrong on this?

They have no formal relationship.

Dinan products void the BMW warranty same as anyone else's aftermarket products. Dinan replaces BMW's coverage with their own. Getting BMW and Dinan to agree who should cover a failure is not always a smooth journey.

If youre selling it because of fear of screwing up warranty coverage on a new car, I dont blame you.. But before going with Dinan, just remember that folks have had warranty issues with them also.. Ive written about how after having their cat back exhaust, when the welds on one of the seams blew out, they decided NOT to honor the warranty which still had several months left.. Why ? Because I had bumped the boost on my Dinan SC by 3 psi, and the claimed that might have been too much for the poor little muffler to handle! Fact is, if you go with Dinan, be prepared and willing to put NOTHING else in your engine bay that is NOT Dinan. Not in your engine bay, Drive train, or anywhere near it. Else you run a very real risk of losing Both the Dinan warranty and your BMW warranty... Thats one of the reasons I would think the SSTT would be so attractive.. With its simple plug and play harness, it sounds like installing and removing are 5 minute operations, making it a trivial matter to remove whenever you want, leaving no signs of anything that could screw up your warranty.

If I owned the car, I think I might use the SSTT during the warranty years, and then, if strong advances are made over the next several years in the more 'permanent' products without similar advances in the SSTT, thats the time I might sell the SSTT and replace it with one of the others.

Have any of you thought of taking this approach?
