I'm replacing my sunroof switch panel in my '91 850i. I've never had one. When going to install the new piece I got from the dealer there are two slots in the panel. One large one for the sunroof switch and a smaller one that has befuddled me. I'm trying to get the car put together so I can sell it. What goes in the smaller hole next to the sunroof switch? Mine is obviously missing.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

my educated guess would be that it was/is meant for a universal garage door opener. I'm not aware of there being one availible at the time of your car's production but I know BMW makes quite a few of them and I'm fairly certain I've been told they are availible for my 840.

Cheers,
Thomas

the garage door openers are kinda large - fills up a good chunk of the available space.

I have seen ones that are simple "button" cut outs, where only the button pokes through. Not trying to argue that I'm right, I'm just trying to help.
