i also changed the fuse. my dumb ass had the wrong fuse in the fog light lol
thank again guys!
darthE36 04-12-2008, 12:19 PM double check every connection again, And I'd suggest alittle better elec tape job, just cause its so close to the road and piece of mind is a beautiful thing.
Anthony914 04-12-2008, 12:26 PM first of all you voided you warranty on those hids now :) good job!

you should have went this route!!
darthE36 04-12-2008, 01:21 PM Should haves and could haves doesn't help him. Try checking the connector plugs and the pins they connect to. Make sure they're not corroded so its getting good contact.
But you should have done it the other way lol
habbie 04-12-2008, 02:29 PM are you testing this with the engine running or off?
rdoane 04-12-2008, 03:39 PM I followed the same DIY and found the buzzing to be coming from the metal connectors in the cap that goes on the back of the fog light. W
What I did was disconnected the wires from the bulb to the connector, pull the metal prongs out with a pair of pliers, and run the wires from the bulb out the back of the cap and seal it with silicon. Worked just fine.
IL318i 04-12-2008, 03:56 PM there goes some $$$, new bulbs will cost you $80.50 shipped from ddm
OneTimeCRX 04-12-2008, 04:46 PM HID bulbs do not have a filament (wire) connected between the two electrodes. From the photo, it looks like your bulb is not blown.
BL4CK-OUT 04-12-2008, 04:56 PM CHECK YOUR FUSES.
I thought my D2S ballast blew, so I bought another one and that side still wouldn't light up. Checked my fuses and saw that the driver's side was blown hence no firing.

on
exodus454 04-12-2008, 06:35 PM I wouldn't have cut the wires coming from the ballasts or the bulbs.. the wires it comes with are insulated very well to prevent arcing under the high voltage.. i'd go back and silicone all those connections, especially with the vibrations in cars, it'll start arcing eventually.
I'd pull the bulbs back out and wire them directly to the ballasts and see what happens, you could be having a problem in the back plug on the fog, or the wiring going through it.
Also, make sure you're using a GOOD 12v source - I tried testing my HIDs with a car battery charger and it wasn't enough to overcome the startup load.
Good luck!
BL4CK-OUT 04-12-2008, 06:40 PM Maybe high beam fuses are out? Worth checking before you get down to diagnosing the wires :dunno
BMWALDO 04-12-2008, 08:01 PM I don't know why you didn't just ask me... I live like 20 mins from you. Chop chop.

haha i know right. im afraid you are going to charge me. i think i fixed them. they are working when i attach the hid and fog light bulb though the low beam source. when i attach them to the fog light source it doesnt work.
The-Great-328ic 04-12-2008, 08:59 PM nice, good thing they're working
are all of your fuses good?

Charge you for a simple Foglight HID install!? Bwaahahahahaaa!
Now call me back.
exodus454 04-12-2008, 11:29 PM check power at foglight relay, and make sure all your fuses are good.. I switched mine to 5A more than what was in there already when I installed my HID's to prevent blowing on startup.
