I've seen a set of rims that were similiar to those, but they were 1 piece. I can't think of the name but it might come to me. I am going to go out on a limb and guess that those you pictured are not 5x120 though.

they are

direct fit on an e34

Any markings at all anywhere on the wheels?

Well damn, let me know if you ever sell them. Are they 16" or 17"?

16x7 :(

most of them are rubbed off or covered in crazy uber brake dust

but I just have 16xJh7 on the rear lip

and what looks like a "pie" symbol behind one of the spokes

Hmm, pi looking symbol? That could be the marking for the JWL standard in Japanese wheels, certifying that the wheel is approved by the Ministry of Transport. If that's what it is then it's probably a Japanese wheel.

However, these look just like Compomotive PS wheels:

for some reason.... I think of some older rims with a DP on the center cap..

I'll research a little

Yeah I thought they may have been DP wheels too, but I couldn't find any in the same kind of size and offset as the OP's. The spoke style is extremely similar though.
