:)I have BF Goodrich G-Force in the back right now (245/40/17). I ran those up front last year during the AutoX and the squeal like crazy. They became very greasy and caused a lot of understeer. I want a high performance tire up front so I can at least get oversteer if need be. I can't afford a new set up right now, but I need new front tires, so I thought I would get the RE-01R's. They have great reviews and everyone seems to like them that uses them. I will most likely do a few AutoXs and hopefully at least 1 track day.

So, my questions:

What is your opinion of the RE-01rs?

Will I get that much more benefit by running a 235 instead of a 225 of front?

Do you forsee any issues (I'm on stock suspension for now)?

Any comments welcome!

Thanks!

up. i need to know that too, are all of your ds2s 7.5? so you are fine by running 245/40s on the back? i however want to run 225/45s up front and 245/40s back on ds1s.

I am not sure about running them together but the RE-01R is as good as it gets for handling. With the BFG in the rear the car will oversteer more easily.
If I can help let me know.

Get the re-01rs up front and any other cheap tire in the rear. you'll be very happy

I am not sure about that. If you are not ready for the car to oversteer it can suprise you in a hurry.

The RE-01R's are awesome tires. If you get only fronts though you are gonna have a TON of oversteer...

I have RE-01Rs in 235/40f and 245/40 r on staggered DSIIs and autocrossed all last year with this setup.

The 'stones are an excellent ST- class tire, though not as good as the AD07 Yok, but a good deal cheaper, and the new Dunlop Z1 star spec might be better too, preliminary reviews are very positive. I would consider them as well.

The 'stones like cooler temps a lot. High temps cause them to get a little greasy.

I run the 235/40 vs. the 225/45 mainly for the shorter side wall, which I feel might be a little more responsive. I doubt if it provides any more grip, the 7.5 front wheel diameter is the problem more than the tire.

I don't know about running them just in the front though, you will be surprised how the car will oversteer. But sounds like you are going to do it anyway.
