Hey guys im trying to find the best wheels and tire set up to put on my 1986 735i, what would be the best way to go? I found some M3 wheels for pretty cheap that would look good on there... what other BMW wheels will fit my model also? thanks!:buttrock

You will need to get some spacers to fit those m3 wheels on your car. You will basically need to look for 5x120 bolt pattern (BMW specific) with an offset of 13-22mm.

The 3 series wheels are typically 35-40mm.. therefore, you'd need a 15-20mm spacer.

Any 5, 6, 7, or 8 series wheels would be a direct fit (e39:1996-2003 5series wheels will need hub rings)
