Dyetrying91 took the fuel pump from an m20 car an has been running it in his 530 with no issues, just FYI.

True story, I'm just not holding pressure in the line for whatever reason after the car sits. But it performs the same exact way it did with my stock pump.

does your old pump run when you hook it up to twelve volts? I ask this because my pump was not giving consistant pressure either but worked quite strongly, in fact when I completed the circuit on it the fuel that was still in the pump shot out and the pump twisted in my hand. With torque like that I knew it wasn't the pump. I also didn't get good readings with my multimeter when I was trying to read the pump resistance while it was still in the tank. I noticed that the silver terminals had a rather thick layer of corrosion, eg. tarnish, so I took to them with some steel wool. That is the pads and screws on the pump as well as the pads on the leads. Viola!!!! I did not need to get a new pump at all and I am getting 52 psi all day long. I did change out the fuel filters to so be sure that you've got a set of good ones installed.
