Spec E36 Guys: Are Steering Ratio "quickeners" allowed? Anyone have an example of such a modification? Pls know that I am trying to cheat or alter the rack but simply trying to increase the ratio. Also, why do most of products say "for manual racks only" could this potentiall harm the power units?

Tammer is 100% correct. The BMWCCA 2008 Rules don't specifically say that you can, so you can't.

Honestly I am just a weekend warrior, more background in autox than road racing, just reccently decided to go the direction of SE36, from a dedicated autoxer. I will basically buy the trunk kit and 6 pt and go from there.

No matter when I decide to finish the car, I will not be competitive because I refuse travel multiple states for races, it's just a hobby for me, Mid-O is the closest track (my favorite). Have done the traveling thing for years (karting) and it gets old.

Currently I am getting quotes from local shops to complete my cage, which is frustrating because there are only two shops around that are capable.
