Hello all i just got new wheels the m6 style for my e48 right now i have 225-45-17 on there they rub fender lip on bumps slightly on rear will a 205/40/17 be a better choice and stop clearence issue?

The 205's will likely eliminate the fender issue but they are 1.5" less in diameter than your current wheels, which is fairly substantial. The question to be ask is "is the rubbing due to the height of the wheel, the width, both, suspension, etc. Is the car lowered or is the suspension going bad becuase your current wheels are the proper size for your car.
