They seem ok, thougts? 030206163 04-12-2008, 10:56 AM No one has even heard of this one!? ulp ughhh i guess its budds bmw for me still :( 97'scort 04-14-2008, 02:07 AM Hands up, who's from Mississauga other than this dude? :) Not a ton of easterners on this board anymore, it seems. stiffy1 04-15-2008, 05:30 PM There are other choices...I have not heard of Techmax, but in the area: Bimmersport in Mississauga Cross Ave. Auto in Oakville (beside the Go station at Trafalgar) I have had very positive experience with Cross Ave, and Bimmerpsort is well-respected. Check out this Canadian forum thread on 'where to take your Bimmer' http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76189 Good luck. guzzler 06-22-2008, 07:32 AM Is "techmax auto repair" in mississagua any good? They seem ok, thougts? I have used them for a few years. Initially they were much cheaper than Mississauga BMW. After I spent big money on some mods and other repairs their enthusiasm seemed to fade. Their work is at times below par. I have had to go back many times for parts that were not put back properly. I started to review my bills and can see over time they slowly started to increase to the point of gouging. For example $60 for a cabin filter. The owner sold me a BMW emblem for $30 and offered to install it. That took 30 seconds and then he handed me a bill for $60. They are interested in big ticket items not quality service. Obviously I am looking for alternatives Cdn325 06-25-2008, 03:07 PM Never heard of Techmax. Cross Ave Auto is supposed to be pretty good. Bimmersport ticked me off since trying to get info from them via phone is useless, and they don't always respond to your e-mails. Best, IMO, is Furtmair in Kitchener-Waterloo. A bit of a drive, but this guy knows his stuff. He is actually a Porsche guy, but also works on BMWs. A lot of my co-workers go to him because he does just what needs to be done, takes the time to explain everything and knows his stuff to boot. And yes I am from Mississauga propr`one 07-10-2008, 03:49 AM techmax is ok. cross ave is better. there's only two really good bmw shops in toronto though. one of them was mentionned, bimmersport automotive, owned by charlie nour. He's been in the game for a long time, he's central (well, mississauga, by the airport), and he and his tech's have tons of satesfied customers in the GTA from the past few years. the other, (which i go to) is called RMP motors. Its just outside of toronto (about 10 mins from the top of 427). The owner's name is Rocco, he used to work at maranello bmw, few years back he started his own shop. Only person i know who can change a e36 microfilter in like 7 minutes. shop number is 9059510002, they're open mon-fri 9-6, sometimes they can make appointments on the weekends. goodluck. p.s. if you're from toronto, check out maxbimmer.com Spin2Win 09-17-2008, 12:31 AM Techmax did my race car. They encouraged me to source parts on the web, and either of us could install. I'd let them to the tricky bits, and I'd do the basic stuff. Great knowledge - able to diagnose in a flash. The guys will do anything form oil changes to brakes to turbo installations or engine swaps. They do anything European. Bhead 09-30-2008, 09:10 AM Dealt with them before to repair my Benz's leaking A/C. The owner simply put a bottle of stop A/C leaking which can be found at CT for no more than $30, and it only took about 45 mins to do so. Then I got a bill for $270+tax. And this didn't fix my A/C. Won't go back anymore. zubbie 09-30-2008, 09:54 AM Not a ton of easterners on this board anymore, it seems. I'm the only one who's truly an easterner :( |
