Well after reading on another post reguarding how we get excited about little things on the car and our girls generally just roll their eyes, I became curious. Do your girls like you car or dislike? Mine doesn't like my car at all she says it is ugly and to big and reverse is on the wrong side and the butt of the car is ugly and headlights look crosseyed and doesn't have 4 wheel drive and on and on....... :shifty even though she won't admit that her 12k 2003 audi 1.8t is ugly and has a fat butt and is sooooo slow. Am i alone or do your other half's like you car?

My wife isn't nearly as excited about my car as I am.

I have shown her a shit-ton of wheels though, and though she was humoring me, she did suggest I put on some M-Pars. Which surprised me because I showed her the Style 5's on sale here and she said "those look like what you have on there now."

I am running stock 16 guys. :-(

lol

i get compliments on the car a lot from girls...

:nono
yep... a girl with good taste.

Wife didn't like it because it was a wagon, then liked it because it was comfortable and had lots of room, and was quiet on the freeway...
Then didn't like it because she was afraid after getting harassed by the cops once, and now doesn't like it because she can't drive stick ;) ... and because I spend too much money on it.

But whenever we go somewhere, there is never any question we go in the Touring.

My fiance makes fun of the fact that my cars always need work on them. She's not fond of red cars either. She thinks the E34 is too big and long. She also never pushes any of my modified cars, so I don't think she's getting the full experience. I know that she's not fond of the hard suspension either. She's more of an E46 gal. But she's always impressed by the number of people that flock to my car whenever I go somewhere.

All my g/f's in the past loved my cars..

My current gal like both the e30 and the e34 but hates the Audi. She names both the e30 and the e34 and she refers to them by name.

The girls loved my first black e34 back when I was in high school. One night this girl told me it made her wet when she saw me in it. :rofl She was a closet slut though. Dumb high school girls.

Nope, the girls hate it but they don't complain whenever they want a lift.

My ex cussed me so much when I bought the car, then said she started to like it. As soon as we finished she told me she hated the car, it was a shit box. That hurt me really deeply :rolleyes

She's more of an E46 gal

by her a 2002 M3 then instead of pumping money into E34's :stickoutt

E36's are ugly, I think all stock BMW's are. They make a great car for every chassis and put an M badge on it, then they take off all the good bits and sell loads of them :dunno

You guys want to burn through a lot of your wife's patience, understanding, and tolerance, do an engine and tranny swap while trying to keep one car as a daily driver so you can still get the kid to daycare and to work. My husband stock was not at its high point last year at this time when the drivetrain was getting swapped and I was driving my mechanic's M30 touring for a month.

Surprisingly, I didn't get in deep crap when I told her a few months ago that it was a mistake and I wanted to sell the car after all that.

I guess I wouldn't say she likes the car, she tolerates it. She normally doesn't like old cars but she thinks the E12 M535i has turned out pretty well and has sampled it from the passenger seat a few times now. She liked the E34 M5 3.8 liter euro a lot better. She just doesn't deal well with old car issues like stuff breaking or unreliable autos.

All in all, she's pretty darn tolerant I'd say. :redspot

My GF never really came out and said she was fond of it, but I could tell she liked it. I think what got her attention of all things was the sunroof. Apparently until she was in my car she hadn't ridden in a car with the sunroof back on a gorgeous day.

Then one night I let her take it to work and when she got back she had a HUGE grin on her face and said that she likes driving my car. I viewed it as both a bad and good thing...

I just taught my gf to drive stick in mine last night. She did pretty well, only stalled it once. But then of course once she got a little comfortable she downshifted to first while we were going like 10 mph. After that shake up, she FINALLY understood what I meant by rev-matching. She had always been too scared to drive either of my cars since she knows how pissed I'd be if something happened, but she's a pretty decent driver and I never mind when she does. She'll need a little more seat time in the 5 speed before I let her drive it on crazy city streets though. She likes that I'm interested in cars, since none of our other friends are at all by any means. Makes me a little different, though I get a lot of crap for it. I like that the E34 isn't anything too cool out here since all the kids somehow own new G37's and 335's and Civic Si's and such. It definitely is no chick magnet, but it does get attention of other enthusiasts, which is all I want.

All the people at my school thoroughly like my e34. My girlfriend is scared of it, all my friends think its one of the nicest rides at school. My town is full of ricers, its so lame. My stock e34 completely blows their civics and integras out of the water any time they ever want to run. The immature kids all think that its stupid because its older, the auto enthusiasts are impressed that they crammed an 8 cylinder into the thing, and the girls like it because its a "grown up" car.

At first I had an e28 and my ex wouldn't even get into it. Then I got my first e34 and she wouldn't get out of it. Then that 535i/a was totaled and the girl and the car were gone. When the 535i/m came into my hands along with the single life and I haven't had a girl that doesn't like styling or the ride. The largest challenge with the women and my love is the fact that the e34 gets more attention than they do (rightfully deserved).

I've never been with a girl that didn't like the e34. Most think its a newer car, but still appreciate it for what it is when they find out it's a '94. I get way more compliments from random people in the red car than I did in the black one for some reason. I thought the black one looked better

On the other hand, the e30 gets no love. Too small, no stereo, too bumpy

It's bad. Mr. Tool walks into the parking lot where I'm sitting in my car on a phone call. He comes over, asks if I wanna go for a run real quick on 91. I say lets put some money on it. 50$, its agreed. 5 minutes later, we are at a 35 roll on the highway with no traffic in site. 3 Honks later and we are off. I beat him by 4th gear and shut off at about 3 car lengths. We pull off highway where the ricer decides that something is wrong with his car and thats why he lost. Nope, its autodramatic. I'm lookin out for a m60b40 + a 6spd swap as a summer project. It's just the fact that my bone stock car completely wrecks the cars these kids think are faster that fast could be.

For instance. I'm heading to the turnpike tonight to hang out with a friend of mine. I have no intention of racing or causing any shenanigans. Basically just gunna hang out, get a bite to eat. I already know that someone is going to want to race, I already know that I'm most likely going to win their money from them. It's just so annoying.

You won't find me attacking a board-member. It was just a reminder that the e34 is not invincible. I have plenty of friends that have the same mentality that you mentioned; however, I let them believe what they want and have the satisfaction of knowing the truth.

Your last couple of posts have been calling for flame-age. Luckily the e34 section seems to be a little nicer than others (for instance, e36 guys would probably be riding your ass right now).

Mine absolutely hates my car, she says the seats are uncomfortable and she'd rather ride in her Mazda where you can feel every bump and know that when you get hit by another car (most likely an E34 around here) that you'll be crushed and probably killed immediately. I'm hoping after the baby comes in a couple of weeks she'll think differently, as long as she doesn't try and steal it from me.

Unless you've heavily modified yours, almost any new econobox will hang with you. 540i's and M5's can hold their own okay in today's world, but even they will hardly be able to edge out current Accord's, Camry's, and Altima's. New Civic's can even hang. That's not to say that I'd rather own one of those cars since the E34 is much more pleasurable to drive, but you can't be so naive as to think that your car is the fastest thing on the road.

My g/f loves my car. Back when it had an OBC problem, the car would ding for no apparent reason... but it mainly happened when she drove it, so it was like it was speaking to her. She would carry on a conversation, then ask a question, and 2 seconds later... *DING*. Funny as hell.

But yeah, she likes it much better than her Pontiac :D.

My car locks and arms itself and doesn't let me back in sometimes.

G/F had a ball laughing at me the first time that happened, then the second, ...... then the third. :mad

I like to think she likes my car. She has some weird ideas about it every once in awhile, but some of them are because she's a nymph. :redspot:redspot

Gah, I never said that my e34 was the fastest thing on the road, I'm just saying that people underestimate it as a car and think that hondas are infinitely better.

You know it's funny, I picked up an e30 a couple weeks ago. I haven't driven the e34 since. I started it a week ago, then the battery died. I drove it tonight, just because I felt like driving it. Even with the alternator (voltage regulator) dying on me, it all came flooding back why I love the damn car so much.

If your gf/so doesn't like it, ditch her.

My husband hates my 525i cause he thinks its old. It sits in our garage though cause I refuse to sell it. It is my baby and means a lot to me because my father bought it before he passed away. It's always an issue though between my husband and I...any time he talks about it I get upset. I think he likes my 2001 325i though...sort of...all though he says BMWs are overrated and we should get the best...a Porsche. I don't really like the 100,000 price tag for those though allthough I know they are nice...

Mormons don't have girlfriends and wives, FLDS church members do. He's got what's called an open marriage.

It is not as bad as you think ....with 3 incomes and very few bills ...3 people doing the housework ....it works out pretty well. Since no one is 'sneaking around' ...everyone is safe and happy.:redspot
