It has a reference to a complete 5HP30 teardown, but it is in the E38 manual! I've been hunting the last few days for the factory E38 manual or E32 manual, but no luck so far. Mayhaps Shogun or Qsilver7 could lend a hand? itraveltoomuch 04-11-2008, 12:06 PM Don't forget the factory manual print pdf: http://pdftown.com/PDF-BMW-5-Series-1989-1995-Service-Manual.html The thing that kills me about it is the transmission section. Ah...didn't notice that, thanks. It still isn't working though, in fact its jamming up my laptop. xatlas0 04-11-2008, 12:39 PM Hm, that's strange. The link I gave doesn't point to the same thing it did a few days ago, now it points to a bently scan. One sec while I look for the proper link. EDIT: Looks like the one I downloaded has been removed. I've got a ~120mb pdf (~1200 pages) that appears to be the factory service manual. If someone is willing to host it, I will figure out a way to get it to them. ProZak95 04-12-2008, 12:29 AM Hm, that's strange. Charlie Burke spent years writing that thing, and you pass it around like free candy and pretend the guy doesn't deserve to get paid for his hard work. You think they're going to continue writing them, publishing them, if you prevent them from making money? Buy the book. And don't say it's too expensive. It's cheaper than a tank of gas. tonyroc14 04-12-2008, 02:01 AM I have to say, I'm disappointed in some of you guys. It's cheaper than a tank of gas. your right, welcome to the age of copyright infringments. I would think the publisher would have the right to go after the offenders such as they do in the music industry. But it just seems to be a way of life these days. I have as most people have violated the copyright laws in one form or another . xatlas0 04-14-2008, 12:54 PM Heck, with the Bently, a pdf version just isn't all that useful. When it comes to working books, a hardcopy is pretty much always needed. I bought another copy even after I got the pdf. Hardcopy is much better for this sort of thing, it's why I've gone out of my way to collect the factory Blue Book manuals. In this way, unlike music or movies, pirating books will be always reduced to wanting a hardcopy, even if you downloaded the pirated copy. Plus, like you said, it is a fairly cheap book, in this era of $60+ fill-ups. |
