then James Clay is ludicrous fast. Beat me by 10 seconds in my own car at TWS. Just ridiculous.

When did this happen? 10s, that's a lot of time at TWS. Sad thing is I'd bet he could beat me by 10s in my own car in the dry.

Did you bring in a ringer for the enduro since 'one-lap' bailed on you? You must buy way too much stuff from him, huh :)

Wait, thats not this weekend. How is TWS open today?

Times in the rain?

I was waiting for it!

Props to James Clay for making it out to TWS! He's a great guy.

Im expecting some swag James! Bimmerworld blue is my favorite color. :D

Edit: ^^^^That sig just made me chuckle. Poor Sean.

James is indeed smoking fast. I have some in-car video of him driving my car (of course, faster than me!) around VIR full course from a month ago. Once I get the Firewire port installed on my PC I'll try to get it uploaded to Youtube.

One lap got hosed down for his trouble. I asked James to drive the enduro months ago. He's at VIR that weekend, so no chance. He did describe my car as "bitchin in the dry" so maybe I'll be able to coax him back out at some point.

Wait, thats not this weekend. How is TWS open today?

2:25 for me. 7 month layoff plus rain plus slicks = teh slownez.

Yeah, it's really worth it. Here's a lap from my 2nd dry run and before James had gotten in the car so we could compare data. I was still knocking the rust off...hadn't been in the car for 7 months. I didn't get data for this lap (you see me turn it on in t10) but James was following in MCain's car and said he got 55. Thanks to James' input, I improved significantly all over the track in the next 2 sessions.

I'm just glad I was able to nurse the thing through the day. Had a tear in on of the inboard boots and literally fixed it with duct tape and bailing wire.

I need to go through my G2x data today in a big way and see where James was faster. That's going to be really educational.

I got James Clayowned during an HPDE on a wet VIR. He was driving his friend/student's Green E36 with JRZ...then I got owned the session after by the owner of the car. :(

Actually, I have footage:

On a positive note, it's good to know that my car a bunch of potential speed left in it! I wouldn't mind getting a more experienced driver pushing my car to its limits.

Lots of guys can do that. The trick is a) being able to produce useable data, b) knowing how to interpret it, c) being able to communicate it, and d) being trustworthy enough to do that in somebody else's car. James excels at all those things. His feedback on setup in the morning was spot on, it seems. His data analysis and the explanation of it was worth a full second on a track I've got 1000's of laps on.

God that vid reminded me how much fun that track is. Can't wait to get back down there next month.

A couple small critiques, hope ya don't mind. Turn two it doesn't look like you tracked out all the way which would mean you could proably get on the gas sooner. Turn three if you apex a little later you can probably carry more speed through the turn. Turn 6 looked like you pinched the turn a little bit. Dam that car looks like fun!!

Jeez Bob. You missed the coasting too long in 1, the messy turn into 4, letting up too much in 5 and braking too hard in 6 along with the early brake in 8 and lazy line into 13. =)
