Like a kid in a candy store I bought a bunch of little stuff from autohausaz the other day and they arrived a short time agao. Side note: their pricing is tits, I don't remember who on here suggested them but thank you.

Anyway, one of the things I ordered were new hood struts so I figured I'd throw em on at lunch, sweetness ensued. I was unaware that when you pull the hood latch the hood is supposed to jump up and forward, for some reason I thought that was the coolest thing ever. That and I won't have to wedge the hood open anymore with a large rubber mallet.:buttrock

So this weekend I will be replacing my thermostat housing, thermostat, belts, and the valve cover gasket. Sadly my lower control arms and spark plugs wont be here until Monday...and I am right back on the road Wednesday. Anyone in the Bryan/College Station area feel like they want to help?

While I was throwing on the hood struts, since I was there, and having read the instructions that another forum member shot my way on replacing the valve cover gasket, I thought what the hell, I'll just start taking shit off. Seems like replacing it is a safe bet:

Quick question on the belts, is that done easiest from below?

I have a box from AZ today. It is patiently waiting on my front step for my arrival. Mine has new pullies, tensioner, fuel filter and a wheel bearing nut. I also have a box from bimmerparts with some 02 sensors. It's all for the M3 though. Joy!

No kidding...my wife got home and I was covered in dirt and grime (see coolant thread) and I said "honey, honey, you gotta see this...get in there and pull the hood latch and watch what happens."

I think its great when i fix something small but important like that....on the other hard my girl thinks i am stupid when i get excited and wanna drive to see how it works....putting the rear seats in correct for intance.....and she just rolls her eyes. I don't know why she doesn't like my car haha.

Hahaha, you and me both then. I ran and got my dad when the glass hatch started opening again randomly, just so I could show him. (now THOSE struts can be replaced) Oh and also when I learned about being able to close the windows and sunroof with just the key in the lock cylinder. :buttrock

I'm thrilled that they had them so cheap. I payed $36 something for 2 of em, where Bavauto wanted nearly that for ONE, not counting shipping!
