m3mobbin 04-10-2008, 01:36 PM I can't wait to get a set of these:buttrock. Come on people, sign up!:D
phillie 04-10-2008, 02:45 PM Would love a set of these but it wouldn't look right in my E39.
are they really genuine ones?
m3mobbin 04-10-2008, 03:04 PM Would love a set of these but it wouldn't look right in my E39.
I agree, they would look a bit weird in a 5 series. You could buy a e36 to put these seats in though:dunno

They are built by Bride of Taiwan, please read the OP's post.
BraveUlysses 04-10-2008, 06:34 PM They are built by Bride of Taiwan, please read the OP's post.
Which is not the same company (nor a subsidiary) as Bride of Japan.
Someone merely trademarked "BRIDE of Taiwan™" and decided to produce replicas.
There is no chance a company would decide, "hey these $1800 dollar seats are selling great buuuuuuuuuut, let's make a subsidiary company in Taiwan to sell the same seats for 1/4 the price! We'll be rich!"
Knock-off safety equipment is beyond stupid.
Baoser 04-10-2008, 06:36 PM no little ghost dude...fail
m3mobbin 04-10-2008, 06:47 PM I never said they were the same companies, these are high quality replicas made from a trademarked business in Taiwan. If you want the real thing go pay $2700, that's perfectly mine with me.
It's funny how I hear all this stuff about "knock off" safety equipment. ROFL, Corbeau makes replica Sparco Torino's and no-one says anything, Corbeau TRS and Cobra Dayton = Recaro SRD/Speed. Many name brand seat manufactures do not have FIA or DOT approval either, there is only a select few reclining seats that have any certification at all.
Just FYI, the original Bride Gias seats are not FIA approved and are not intended for track use. I assume that the people signing up for these seats will not be using them on the track either.
Those who aren't interested in this GB, please keep your opinions to yourselves. Thanks!

yea, if you only want one, its no problem. I will edit thread accordingly. In terms of bracketry, Im using custom ones that i made. But you can use wedge engineering (local socal bracket company) http://www.wedgeengineering.net/
DTM Driven 04-14-2008, 03:40 AM what are the dimensions on these seats, i might go half with the guy that only wants one.

Highly agreed. My track car E36 M3 never would use 3rd world country knock offs for any of its safety equipment.
It makes me sad that E36 M3 owners in LA are rolling around in chinese designed/made seats.
You can get used Recaro/Cobra/OMP/Sparco for about the same price as these "Bride" seats.......

Good point, and you gotta love those who claim that legitimate companies such as Cobra and Corbeau don't do any testing or design analysis of their seats, even if they make seats that aren't FIA certified.
As if anyone making knock off seats does anything above and beyond trying to turn a buck off copyright violations :rofl2.
DocDuvi 04-14-2008, 05:43 PM these are sweet which i was close to pick some up!
m3mobbin 04-14-2008, 11:18 PM Please read the original post guys, if you aren't interested in these seats stay out of our group buy. If you want to discuss your concerns with me, feel free to PM otherwise keep your comments to yourself.
Rated///M and I already disclosed everything potential buyers need to know about these seats, and considering that the Original Bride Gias seats are not FIA approved I highly doubt anyone running these seats will bring their cars to the track. Both of you guys have absolutely no inclination of the quality of these seats, and have no right to comment on them.

ALso, how much are the brackets?
Anyone install these yet?
volcomnator999 04-23-2008, 06:25 PM the price is for 2 seats..the pair
Rated///M 04-23-2008, 11:21 PM Install Pics Posted!
kpipalldaway2 04-24-2008, 02:00 AM did they come with sliders?
i would have been all over these if it didnt say BRIDE everywhere.
F1SportsFan 04-24-2008, 02:17 AM I would buy these if the driver seat said "Groom" and the passenger seat said "Bride" :shifty
:D:D:D Seriously though, those seats look nice!
m3mobbin 04-24-2008, 11:33 AM Just to update the thread, we installed a set in rated///M's car yesterday and I had a chance do a hit up the twisty's in these seats. I have to say they held me exceptionally, I would say the lateral support is up there with any race bucket seat.
As for build quality, these seats are top of the line. They feel very solid and the recline mechanisms are comparable to the Recaro SRD's I have sitting in my garage.
did they come with sliders?
i would have been all over these if it didnt say BRIDE everywhere.
It would be really easy/cheap to get the center pads re-wrapped in a different color/style of fabric as they are removable.
I would buy these if the driver seat said "Groom" and the passenger seat said "Bride" :shifty
:D:D:D Seriously though, those seats look nice!
:lol Thanks, I helped install these yesterday, they look even better in person.
GTRacing 04-24-2008, 12:04 PM any taller guys try out these seats? I'm 6'3" 210, wondering if I will fit.
Rated///M 04-24-2008, 12:38 PM any taller guys try out these seats? I'm 6'3" 210, wondering if I will fit.
I am 6'1" 165lbs I wear size 34 pants, and i feel snug in the seat. Height is not an issue, its width. So i would say that people who wear size 38+ are gonna have an issue w/ side bolsters.
GTRacing 04-24-2008, 12:48 PM I wear size 34 as well... Anyone else?
Thanks for the response
tEckniks 04-25-2008, 04:05 AM wow those looks insanely sick. someone post pics installed!!

Thanks, check out the first post, they've been up for a couple days.
I know this is off topic but Im only asking cause it seems like you have a connection.
Is there any way you can get some other brand seats for these low prices? Just curious cause the Bride lgos bother me alot
hellrot98m3 04-26-2008, 01:48 AM no shipping?
GTRacing 04-26-2008, 11:02 AM ebay. search for bride gias. I got a quote for $825 shipped for the pair
m3mobbin 04-26-2008, 02:40 PM We will ship these out, since so many of the people on the original GB list flaked out. Rated///M will let you guys know what the actual shipped price is on Monday. Hopefully we can get decent shipping rates to match/beat the offer you got from the ebay seller.

GTRacing 04-26-2008, 02:55 PM let me know, if you can match the price I will most likely purchase them from you(egay sucks)
turb0charged 04-26-2008, 03:26 PM How do these compare to the genuine Bride seats made in Japan? If they look exactly the same and fit the same, I might as well pick these up, I've been looking for bucket seats (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=989419#) for awhile.
I can pick these up and save you the hassle of shipping them out.
Fiziks 04-26-2008, 03:52 PM Lots of hardparkers in this thread.

The build quality of these seats is awesome. The micro recline mechanisms are very solid, just as good as any Recaro or Sparco I've owned and better than the set of Corbeau I had in my last car. There is no play or wiggling backs that is common in cheaper quality seats. The fiberglass shells are very sturdy. Another thing that surprised me was that the fabric quality as actually much better than the Jaquard fabric that Sparco's come with. These are very well built seats.
Lots of hardparkers in this thread.
Lots of people with reading comprehension problems as well. I guess you had a hard time understanding the part that said, if you aren't interested, keep your mouth shut
turb0charged 04-26-2008, 10:52 PM do they look exactly the same as the ones from japan other than the fact that it doesnt have a carbon fiber shell? also, would you be willing to meet halfway(I'm in San Diego)?
m3mobbin 04-27-2008, 06:32 PM They look exactly the same, same fabric, recline mechanism, frame construction. Bride of Japan also offers these seats in fiberglass BTW...

APXDDM 04-28-2008, 12:41 AM sat in these this weekend, they fit like a glove.
I was impressed by the build quality of the seats, just not a fan on the text on the fabric.
I guess function>form eh?
bump for some nice seats

m3mobbin 04-30-2008, 11:30 AM Just an update guys, we have a couple pairs left from the people who flaked on the GB list. Please let us know if you are interested in picking up a pair.
:conf
Thanks for catching that, I edited my post. I'm sick of people questioning the quality of these seats when they have never even seen them before. They are top notch seats, the quality is up there with any other manufacturer. I can truthfully say they are a better product than some of the Corbeaus and Sparcos I've had.
How are these as far as comfort is concerned? I really want to order a set, just can't make up my mind!
It really depends on your waist size, a friend of mine who races Miatas and is used to aluminum race bucket loves the way the fit. They are a bit difficult to get in and out of compared to stock, but depending on your size they fit perfect once you are in them...
GTRacing 04-30-2008, 11:54 AM No shipping to 77079?
///M LIFE© 04-30-2008, 12:03 PM They look pretty sweet. Let me know how much you want shipped to the windy city.

I meant shots of the full car, so we can see what it would look like from outside point of view. Damn, the mod bug is biting very very hard.

I am working on 3 shipping quotes right now. I will PM all of you this afternoon with shipped prices. thanks
Simann 05-13-2008, 07:38 PM A very good friend of mine has a real Bride Gias for his Supra project. He bought it about a year ago when it first came out, got lucky on ebay and cought a "no reserve" introductory price offer of $1100 shipped.
Nevertheless, these seats that are in question are 100% quality and look absolutely identicle down to the welds on the silver frame support. The fabric in the high resolution photos looks identicle. The stitching is identicle.
And I must say, they are by far the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. I am 6'2 and 180 lbs with a 34" waste and fit perfectly. My brother is 5'10 and 150lbs and fits even better! But if your bridging 36" waste you probably will not be very comfortable.
Either way, I believe the trademarked company in Taiwan is quality. I heard rumors years ago about Bride having production factories outside of Japan. There are only so many ways you can make a seat! I would definantly trust this build quality and product over alot of other OEM seats in cars now days.
I find it hillarious that some people keep thinking that these are lower quality or wont "hold up" in a crash.....what seat have you ever seen "hold up" in a side impact or head on collision? I had a friend wreck his evo 8 at 30 mph, his OEM Recaro's frames bent beyond repair! Not to mention when we took apart the seats to inspect, they were litterally no better than some ebay replica sparco 3AA seats I've seen before.
In the end, these are great seats for driving. And I also will add that no reclinable seat is FIA or sports car sanctioning body approved.
Its amazing that so many people flip out over a seat not made in japan, but they fail to realize most VW's are made in Mexico, and some BMW's and Mercedes are made in the USA.... same difference.

Start a srs bns list then, the last GB was composed of 75% tire kickers and flakes. We can get some really nice GT3 seats, it's just we need to buy a GRIP to get get you guys a killer deal. That means I wouldn't risk my own cA$$$$h buying a boatload of seats (I'm talking around 20 sets) when half the people don't pay for them and I am forced to sell them on craigslist over a period of a few months.
Stir up some interest, get me a consensus on what you guys want (painted FRP backs or CF backs, black cloth, high quality leatherette, genuine black leather, ect) and then Kase and I can get the ball rolling. I will tell you one thing though, if we get enough people to pre-pay we can get a similar deal to the Bride GB, which means you are only paying a very small % compared to the actual Porsche seats.

Start a srs bns list then, the last GB was composed of 75% tire kickers and flakes. We can get some really nice GT3 seats, it's just we need to buy a GRIP to get get you guys a killer deal. That means I wouldn't risk my own cA$$$ buying a boatload of seats (I'm talking around 20 sets) when half the people don't pay for them and I am forced to sell them on craigslist over a period of a few months.
Stir up some interest, get me a consensus on what you guys want (painted FRP backs or CF backs, black cloth, high quality leatherette, genuine black leather, ect) and then Kase and I can get the ball rolling. I will tell you one thing though, if we get enough people to pre-pay we can get a similar deal to the Bride GB, which means you are only paying a very small % compared to the actual Porsche seats.
whaaaaaaaaattttttttt you live in RPV?
