The weekend of May 24th thru the 26th (Monday)MEMORIAL DAY! There will be another round of Bull Fights in Acuna. http://www.gastonsantos.com/ Looks to be another good event. As always the Hotel San Antonio and La Macarana will be involved. Hotel San Antonio already emailed me to ask if I was coming alone (me + wife) or if I was bringing a group. I know this is a little early to plan this, but I would like to see how many want to go, realisticly, so i can plan ahead.
This last weekend it only took 7 hours to get there by driving straight thru and only stopping for gas from Euless.
My recommendations are to leave early friday morning (8AM) and head that way. Stop in san antonio for lunch and a short break and continue on. That shoud put us in Acuna at 4-5PM. Then party for friday night, saturday night, and sunday night, and drive back monday.
Hotel rooms are typically $60 a night for a king or 2 double beds. Also available are single rooms with up to 4 beds. Parking is guarded and between the crowd who usually goes and myself, we are almost local celebrities. Service is excellent, and it is a VERY relaxing place to party.
After this last weekend, my wife now undersands why I enjoy Mexico so much.
Also we typically rent a car or SUV to go in to save wear and tear on our vehicles. So it usually costs about $100 for a car, and $150 in gas split between 4-6 people and an additional $60 for hotel room. after that you can spend as much or as little as you like. beer is $1 most anywhere you go.
