Hey Guys, just got an HID relay harness...
It was designed for an engine-compartment, mounted battery.
Anywhere I can pickup a 12 volt battery source like the starter or alternator?

yea the positive terminal located in the back of the exhaust side of the engine bay

Ignore my join date on that one. Thanks!

where did you get the HID relay harness? I've come to the conclusion I need one on at least one side.

Search on HID relay kit... you should get a seller called nissangtrpower or something like that. Super nice guy, best price, FAST shipping (he shipped mine same day.). Harness is about $25 shipped. Not cheap but it's thick gauge wire, totally plug and play.
It will supply power to both your HIDs with 9006 connectors... it has an adapter to your stock harness so it can pick up the signal to turn on the lights. The harness also has it's own fuse and relay.
I haven't had a chance to put mine in yet but the connectors look totally straight forward.
Hope that helps.

why would you not just plug into the ballasts witht he 9006 conectors? i thought they were direct fit...mine are

Voltage fluctuations, some cars get this... while some (lucky) cars are plug and play- no LBF, no bulb out, no dips in gauges when you turn them on...
I assume with some cars (like mine), the beam module that signals/provide power to the lights doesn't like having 35w versus 55w lighting or the voltage demands of the ballasts.
Much like wiring up the PIAA or HELLA driving light kits... You *could* wire them up directly to your fog lights per se... but their wiring harnesses have a built in fuses, relays and a direct connection to the battery, I can only assume, provides a more stable power source.

I discovered on my set - Prolumen HID's in depos from Habbie - that the passenger side HID would not light in the winter reliably if it had been raining or I had gone through a car wash. My first thought that was that the issue was water infiltrating connectors. After swapping components side to side I've narrowed it down to the difference coming out of the low beam connector on the passenger side. Somewhere I've got a voltage drop along the long cable running along the front in front of the radiator. I was convinced it was the ballast - partly because of habbie's indirect assurances in other forums. But I've concluded my car is old and my wiring sucks. The next issue to look at will be the battery.

Peter... yeah... I hear you there... when I was running the Depo lights with H1 bulbs... I noticed the passenger side headlight was dimmer... it drove me nuts as I thought it was the optics.... with the HIDs this issue went away... so I also conclude there's something about the passenger side...
