ok guys this is a BMW 316 1976, the body is rusting rusting and rusting, the floor board is pretty much shot, we did a cheap fix but it sucks.
I love this car and I want to buy a better condition e21, I am askin for $1000 because the car is definately still driveable, except this damn break leak, the leak is right below the master and I cant figure out what the piece is it has the euro rap around bumpers, it is a euro car, even has the really short german VIN# to boot, it has a straigh 4 carberated engine runs great same for tranny, seats are ugly as sin, I do have seat covers but theyy are faded, but everything else inside is pretty good, oh and carpet is worthless
reason the price is high is I know I can part this thing out and easily get more for it, but I just would rather sell it in one big chunk, it has the 320 aluminum rims btw,I am more than willin to trade for another bmw I will give cash to compensate even, as I said I want another beamer, I just want a daily driver in need of a bit less work price is most definately flexible, you can call me at 269-820-2007 ask for pat or email me at pthm@comcast.net (pthm@comcast.nets)someone help me out lol

Hey Im going to start compiling a list of parts that people request along with their name, I have to look up the pricing on these parts I saw somewhere on the forums that the non AC console goes for like $100+, so Im going to look into it

Put me on the list for euro bumpers if you decide to part it out. You can also get some $ for the rear disc trailing arm setup.

A 316 does not have rear disk brakes. I also should not have a LSD but it may be a special ratio that the 2002 guys would want.

I think that 4.11:1 final drive would be real neat with a nicely built 2.0L. I'd like to have them but I already have a set. Does it have the single head light grills?

pthm

yea it has the singles, thats about the only thing thats different betweenit and a 320i

If the single headlight grills will work on my '82 320i...I'll take em if onesimo58 doesn't. how much are you asking for them? I'll send ya a pm.

They should work fine. I believe with the grills you will need the metal parts that hold the lights. I'm dumping lots of money in to other places of my 318 so I don't want to spend money on some thing else I don't really need. I was just bringing those up to spark intrest in other members.

ok every, I just stopped by at a friends shop to have this brake issue checked out from undernieth, well Im unlucky, it happens to be the distrobution block is leaking, so thats where the issue lie btw pics will be up by noon, I will take pics of the interior, I tell you now the interior is crap. the body itself which once again is rusting, if I would have thought I would have taken a pic of the undercarage while I had it on a floor lift, the undercarage is really rather rust free, except the drivers side, and body pannels and such, I do have the trunk emblem thought it is almost colorless.

hate to sound like Im trying to pass off the blame, but I have only had the car in my care for about a year, it was quite a bit worse off from the previous owner :( I had the original intension to rebuild it progressively and continue using it as a regular driver, but I hate to say it, but I cant do the body work required do to lack of propper tools, so I am really hoping I can find someone that can.understand when I got it it was completely inoperable so I think in the little time I have had it I have gotten pretty far with it. . . . . sorry couldnt help myself

if it gets down to it, i'd still be interested in that 4.11. Good luck on selling that car otherwise...i dont like to see them parted out! If the underside doesnt really look too bad and the car is pretty sound structurally, you might still find someone who is willing to invest a lot of time in redoing the bodywork. lots of the musclecar guys flip some pretty rough cars, though on an E21 there might not be quite the incentive.

ok guys I am now going to start pulling less major components from it, so if you guys dont mind, put what you want and a offer for it, its just been sitting there making me feel sad for turning on it . . . . so im a little emotionally attached to it, oh also for those that want the whole thing $800 is the new price. I will pull peices as they are asked for.thanks for the time

the engine size is different, the gearbox is probably geared differently, and the final drive is likely a 4.11, so that isn't the only difference.
that said, I'd love to have the engine so I could build a small displacement turbo for BMW CCA racing.

you guys are all probly gonna hate me, Im sorry for getting anyones hopes up for parting it out, but I actually found the replacement parts to fix it, I found the proportioning valves now I just need to find out if its the front one or the back that needs replacement or both, also any of you guys know of a cheap set of brake lines for my car, I want to stay under $75 if possible, either way tho the car is going to be sold because I would like to get a newer one if anyone might be interested

A local NAPA in Auburn, MI had some non-bent but pre-flared lines at various lengths. I bought enough to do my whole car for around $50. I'm sure you could find someone who carries them around there.

i'd much rather have the car fixed, than score some parts.
