I highly suggest everyone take off early and beat traffic for the drive home. It's too nice to be inside

meh, hopefully it'll pick up in August when it's too hot to drive with the windows down. If the weather is like this we should find some backroads and take a drive on a sat or sun

speaking of vomit, how many treats did you give Max? His stomache is extreamly sensitive to what we feed him. Just a note, in the future he is limited to 2. I told my wife the same applies to her from now on.
I'm out for Wednesday. I will have a 3 legged car, so I won't be thrashing it till I get a flat fixed.

Max and Daisey got 2 treats each. I think Max got all of Daiseys wet food though.

What happened to the tire?

new wheels are snake-bit.
first day I lost a centercap, now i have a leak. They will get squared away, but I am still really nervous to drive on them. I have a deal working on a spare set of I-forged that will also clear the bbk, so I won't be as paranoid of driving on them and bending one.

yeah your right Mark. In fact you should consider a brand new set for yourself since they're a bargain for someone who owns a P-car. That way you can finally convert your current set into "track wheels". Plus, while you're on the phone with them ordering your brand new set of Iforged wheels for your P-car, they may suggest some other bargain tasteful mods for your P-Car. Have you seen their project car?

so your basing your opinion of a product having never owned it, or the car it was used on? I remember the way he drove it as well. Not exactly with the most consideration, or caution.

Furthermore; when is the last time you saw a post that said "hey I've had my xyz brand wheels for a year and never had a problem, I love them!" Those are far more rare than the "damn, I hit a pothole today and bent my xyz brand wheel" I had those SSR comps on my 330 for 6 months and never bent one. My wife bent one when she drove it, and greg thrashed 2 of them in the first month he had the car. So alot of it also depends on the person who owns them.

As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever bending any wheels I've owned. Running a tire at a proper inflation level will help guard against most the stuff on teh public roads. I've hit some stuff before and thought "thats it, time for a new wheel" Then get out and look, and nothing. Worst I've done is seperate a tread on a sidewall.

The blow out on the way back from LA was due to the tires being corded and when I hit a bump, it seperated as well, and that was a bad pothole!

So i am not concerned about the frailty of a set of wheels as much as having a spare set for emergencys (I drive over 100 miles every day) and for fun time.

considering he jumped curbs with his STI which was equipped with OEM BBS wheels and none of them bent, you'd expect a fully forged wheel survive few track days and more spirited street driving style. i saw those wheels from being straight to barely getting balanced in about a year.

iforged are not "fully forged wheels" only the center is, the barrel isn't. Also a multi piece wheel is going to be more fragle than a 1 piece any day. was his STI riding on the 17" oems? comparing a 17" wheel to a 19" wheel is a little absurd as well. there is an extra 2" of sidewall to protect the wheel with a 17"

his were 18s and you can see in the pic that there was plenty of tire between the ground and the barrel.

"plenty of tire" is subjective. I think my landcruiser has plenty of tire. I wouldn't say as much for my M3. What is plenty?

any wheel will bend if abused, I think that is what both of us are saying. My point is that offering an opinion on somthing you have never personally owned seems like a stretch.

I could go out and test drive a new car, but I don't think that is an accurate portrayal of the reliability of the vehicle.

whether i owned that car or wheel has nothing to do with the fact that all of his wheels got bent within a year, yet cheaper multi-piece wheels take more beating. I expressed my opinion on those wheels based from my experience, you take it however you want. I dont care if you buy them new or used, but if you buy used(like you did with your current set) be careful not to buy someone else's trash. That was the point of my original post, you driving slow/careful/like grandpa/etc. doesnt change the fact that those things get bent, if not by you then by someone else. Do some research on e46fagnatics there are some good threads regarding Iforged products.

and by "plenty" you and I can both agree that sidewall on those tires is way taller than it should be, there's a good reason why he went with taller sidewall....

Jeff has has owned more cars and wheels than probably anyone else in the Texas section...I'd be willing to bet he's done his research and has all the third hand information he needs by now. If anyone has actual ownership experience with these wheels PM weaksauce

no, that it maybe faster than other 911, you're good example of people that work at Classic. You asked them "hey how are e90 sales going?" they say"e90?"
