View Full Version : Got an idea for my license being suspended

As some of you may know, I just moved from Arizona to West Palm Beach. Right before I left, I went through a year battle against a reckless driving ticket. $2500 later, I ended up loosing it, was assigned to do driving school and pay a fine along with 8 points on my license. This being said, in Arizona, the MVD there has the option to suspend your license any time they want to. Needless to say, I got the letter that says it is being suspended the 7th (today) for 3 months without option for workers permit.

I am leaving Tuesday for Indiana. I will be doing business and working there for a month, following that I will be flying back to Arizona to caravan to Bimmerfest.

They have what is called a "Inter-state Compact". What this is, is all the states with the exception of 5 share the same database. Say I have a suspended license in Arizona, if I get pulled over in Florida, it shows the same as if I was in Arizona and has the same effect.

The area I am going to in Indiana is 100 miles away of Tennessee, which is NOT apart of the interstate compact. My question is, I should have no problem getting a Tennessee license as long as I have a residence (PO BOX) and insurance, correct? Therefor, this will bypass my incapabilities in driving legally. Let me know what you guys think.

I don't think your going to get a license no matter what, nor should you have one.

I sure as hell don't need a wreckless driver crashing into me...

Sorry man.

It wasn't even me bro. It was coming back from Bimmerfest, the cop said he saw a black bmw fly by. He saw me at the end of a offramp and speculated that I was the one that committed the "crime". We are talking about a caravan of 50+ cars all coming back on a sunday afternoon on the I-10. Hence the reason i spent 2500 trying to defend myself. Court systems are just to damn greedy currently.

I'm not trying to flame you, but if you got in trouble in a BMW caravan to BimmerFest, why would you do another (I know its A LOT of fun) but why put yourself in that position?

Im not a lawyer, and I've never tried this, but I love hearing of ways to get around this type of thing.

Anyway, I don't know if this is true, but I don't think I've ever seen a PO BOX listed as an address on a driver's license. I think they're smart enough to know that identification doesn't do much good if they can't trace you to a place you're reasonably likely to be at (your home). Again, I'm not sure about that.

Now, if you could find an address to use, thats a different story. But, I know that when I had a car registered under my name with my address but wanted to give it to my sister, my insurance company balked because the title and registration had my name on it, but I wanted her to be insured (and only her). So, you'd likely have to have the title, registration, and insurance ALL say an address in Tennessee to make it work.

Now, provided you could get a relative or a mail drop box that doesn't show as a PO Box, you may be able to pull this off, but theres one more catch. When you apply for insurance, they ask you how far away you drive to work on a daily basis. If you lie about this and get in a wreck in Florida, but you say you drive 5 miles to work in Tennessee, you run the risk of getting on the bad side of your insurance company. They may not figure it out, and they may or may not deny your claim, but it would be a situation you would have to be very careful with.
