I've been trying to find some information on the brake upgrade that was supposedly done to my car before I bought it. I bought the car from another member on the board and he said the brakes have been upgraded to 330 calipers and rotors. I have no way of knowing for sure unless I start ordering parts. Has anyone heard of just simply bolting 330 brakes on a 325i? I've been trying to get in touch with Bavarian Specialities, the shop that did the work, but they don't seem to like answering emails or voice mails.

Sorry I just realized I was posting this in the wrong forum. If anyone can answer this great and if admin. or a mod can move this to the mechanical thread, even better.

Yes 330 front brakes just bolt up to the 325. The 330 rears take a bit more effort.
The easiest way to tell if you have 330 front brakes is to measure the rotor. The 330 rotor is 325mm across and 25mm thick. I run the 17" M-Contour wheels, and my caliper is about a credit card thickness way from the inside of the rim.

Yeah I have 17" ASA's and there's only a couple millimeters between the caliper and the rim. So what year 330 would I order pads and rotors for?

I think all the E46 330's (except the Xi) are the same. FWIW, I use 2001 when I look up parts, because I know my parts came from an '01.
FWIW, the 330 front calipers use the same pad shape as the E36 M3.

Thanks for the response man. Good info. That's one mystery solved. Now if someone could figure out my wiper arm problem.
