View Full Version : Urgent reply please! sunroof open and its starting to rain!!!

Ok i got my sunroof panel off, and found the pass side slider iwould not move freely, i lubed the slides and it is now free but the sliders do not line up, anyone know how to adjust this?

you mean the bracket on one side is farther back than the other, causing the panel to be cocked? If so, you can "screw" the cable that is farther back into the gearbox by twisting the entire bracket. Have to have the top panel removed obviously...

Chris it sounds like the cable is toast.
You will be able to see if this is true if you can not move it freely when the gear mechanism is engaged on it.

Kevin has a donor car, or there are junkyards around.
And I would not try to do anything when its cloudy and cold like today.

Sadly it was decent when i started, sun was out too. then the clouds rolled in
but i have it sorted i think, just trying to get the front sliders in and adjusted and i will be done hopefully

Kev, I might need the vinyl portion of the sunroof panel, looks like mine is fubar is the one in the blue car any good?

Yeah, it might need to be cleaned up a bit, but as far as I know it's good. That's about the only part of the head liner that me and Joe didn't completely destroy.
