nah... they have 12v power cords for the slims on ebay.
those run on 8.6V DC so don't just cut the head off or you are defeating the voltage regulation.

If anyone ever wants to use the old "thick" PS2 in a car, take the lower case off so you can get to the power supply board... Solder a wire to each of the two center pins in the 4 pin connector that runs between the power supply board and main board(plug it in to an outlet to determine polarity with a multimeter), then pull the wires out the hard drive bay when reassembling... add fusing and a lighter plug to the wire or hard wire them in.
I like to use a quick disconnect so i can unplug from 12v, tuck the wire in the empty HD bay, and still use it on 120v with the standard a/c cord.
tada, 12v/120v PS2.
Those old ones are a Perfect pressure fit under the passenger seat of an e34 in the first aid kit compartment.

front or rear or glovebox...

or na extra one you add in near where you want the ps2

so basically, power is just like a phone charger or radar detector
a/vis just like any other tv, yellow is video, red is right audio, white is left.

I do it for silence on long trips (my son can play Lego star wars on his headrest monitor, and it is easier to swap DVDs in the ps2 than to dismount the monitor)
After 5 minutes out of town there is nothing interesting to look at, all desert looks like dirt and scrub brush

The screen i have is a multimedia player, it does not have a cd player or dvd player in it, but it has input for navi/dvd/cd/ipod/game system. So i figure if i throw a ps2 in my glove box now i have a cd player, a dvd player, and for when i go to shows a playstation.

Nope - you are the first person EVER to suggest putting a video game console in a car...
