Hi Everybody,

I got a new 335i a few weeks back. On a cold engine, the transmission shift at low speeds would have a little jerk so much so that I could actually feel my head hitting the backrest. It would not happen all the time though. There were no other issues and the pickup at higher speeds was a joy.

Took it to the dealer and they applied a 'Software Patch', but now I feel that the car has become sluggish compared to before..Any body else faced the same thing? Not sure if the dealer would roll whatever he did back, since I much prefer the previous ride than the one with the software patch. Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

I have read that others had the same issue after receiving a new software update, but most of them said after the ECU adapted the power returned. You may want to give it a little bit of time to see if it improves itself.

Another reason why I like to do the shifting myself

Anybody care to share how long will it take for the ECU to adapt..It has been about 5 days since the software patch and I don't feel any improvement.

What gets me is that since this is a new car, why wasn't the software patch applied in the first place before it rolled out?

When you can down shift and up shift with the paddle shifters. My impression is that has rest the shift points for my auto tranny (ECU), which works well.
