My seat belt angers me each and every day... it makes weird nosies and gets caught in the door all of the time. So i was wondering if any of you have put in 3 or 4 or 5 point harnesses. I will never track this car so it dosen't have to meet any regulations or anything. But I went on Summits website and there is way too many types to choose from. If i were to get new belts, how do i mount them? I really don't want to ruin my recaros if possible. Thanks,
Mike B.

Don't put in a 4 or 5 point without a roll cage....Cars have a 3 point to give you some "ducking" room for when you roll over and the roof collapses down some. With a 4 or 5 you are limited to how much your neck can move, plus to safely mount it you need to have the shoulder belts mount close to shoulder level else in an accident you are looking at a crushed spine.
And a 5 point would require cutting into your seat.
Personally I think harnesses in a car driven on a regular basis are a pain in the ass...you can't move your body at all so everything has to be within arms reach.

Good point. I just want to do something a little different.
Oh and by the way, that LeMons thing looks SWEET! I read about in Roundel. Looks fun.

why don't you just rebuild the seatbelt assembly? I doubt it did those things when it left the factory. As for getting caught in the door, look into the spring assembly down near the floor that is supposed to keep it out of the way of the rear passenger getting in the car. sometimes those springs come out of the tracks or break and then they always get caught in the door.
Here's a link (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=1733&mospid=47175&btnr=72_0024&hg=72&fg=05) to real OEM to show you how it's all supposed to go together.

Don't forget that almost all 4/5/6 point harness are not DOT approved. Therefore if you have a seatbelt law in your state, you can be cited for not wearing a (approved) seatbelt.
