Greetings:

A friend is doing an engine swap on his 88 M5 and the has available the S38 engine with harness and ECU. He also has the trans. He is in the York/Lancaster area. I am not sure about the price but I think its around 6k for all picked up.

Cheers,
Ricky

Mileage? Does the engine need a rebuild?

I am not sure of the mileage. It is 100K+. It does not need a rebuild. It was running strong when he took it out. He did run 1 bottle of nitrous through it but it was not what he expected. He is putting a carburated 351W w/tremec. Expecting about 500 N/A HP

Wow, what a way to ruin an M5. The 351 Windor weighs over 500 lbs. dressed. I'm pretty sure an M88 doesn't weigh near that. Talk him into an LS1 instead.

Or a Ford 302. The 351W, while full of potential, is a truck motor, fer cryin' out loud. Giant water and oil passages, unneccesary weight, etc.

Makes me sick when I hear about people putting american muscle engines to a fine piece such as that M5. Sorry
