Ok well I am trying to take this head unit out and put the stock one back in but I cannot figure out how to take it out. I did search for a couple days and still have not found the information I need. Will I need to take the dash apart? Any help at all is appreciated.
The unit is an Eclipse 7002. The car is a 95' M3 coupe.

The releases should be behind the trim surrounding the radio. Use a small pick or pocket screwdriver and pry the trim off. (on the radio , not on the car). There should be a release on both sides that will let you slide the radio out. You do not need to take the dashboard apart at all.
I am not familiar with this model, but this is how most of these come out. If the trim does not come off easily, please look for detailed instructions for your model.

Sounds good, I will give it a shot. I cant find instructions for this unit anywhere, it seems to have disappeared off the market completely.

Well, the unit came out fine but after trying to remove the wiring I am getting -very- worried. I got most of it out and under the passenger side floor carpet I found what seems to be what my friend described as a 'pre-amp'.
I know it is an eclipse unit, but cant see much more other than that. Also, my factory radio wiring harness seems like it is missing. Any idea where it may be hidden? I am going to take some pictures because I am at a loss at what to do now.
I got my BSW stage one speakers in today and I was pumped to install them, but this might hold me off. I do not want to take it in to a stealership or best buy, they quoted me 200 dollars JUST to remove the wires. Pics coming soon.
