My '07 335i is displaying a service light for a "Roadworthiness Test" at 11.500 miles. What is this test? Thanks for any info.

I am out of town so I can not access the owner manual. Did you check it??

That is your state's safety test or equivalent. It varies state to state and province to province, but I believe they all have it at one frequency or another. The dealer sets the interval at prep. time before delivery.

Never heard of this service light. Are you referring to an emissions check or something like that? Much to Al Gore's horror, Ohio has no such test!

It's not my state safety inspection. Not much info in owner's manual -- just shows that the symbol means "Roadworthiness Test".

it may not be applicable in all states as I said, but it is either a safety or emissions test or some similar test your state requires you to do at some intervals. As I said the dealer programs it based on local state laws. Call your Motor Vehicle dept. or your dealer to inquire, but I am surprised, if you owned a car before (esp. a used one) you must have had to do that test at one point in time or another. For example Mass used to require it on an annual (or maybe bi-annual, been a long time) basis and they affixed a sticker to your windshield. I know NJ has something similar but not sure at what frequency. In the end, it is just a reminder, doesn't indicate anything specific to the car and is not CBS related.
