Anyone here know of "Perfect Performance"? I believe it's a BMW or Euro only shop, in south Florida, WPB area. I understand that they are one the list of approved or recommended tech check places for the FL SCCA.

Looking to get some work done by them but hoping someone can provide me a recommendation first.

Thanks!

I havent heard of them, but I think in the other thread you mentioned they were in Wellington? I'm very interested to hear if anyone can confirm this and let us know if they are any good, as I'm out in Wellington often.

I'd love to, but have no idea where they are. If I were to take a guess, I'd say they'd be in the industrial park off of pierson road, because thats the only possible place in the limits of wellington that could be zoned for auto repair, but it might take a while to find them.

Any idea where they are for sure?

Update - I actually gave this shop a call this morning to see what they thought about doing some wheel bearings on my E46. Left a message last night and they called me back this morning, which is unheard of. Gave him all the info, made sure he had the large bearing press required.

He said that he has a person that does mostly BMWs, races them, and has done rear bearings before. Weather or not he's telling the truth is yet to be seen, but he offered a great price ($625 for both bearings installed) on the work I need done, so I think I'm going to give them a shot. I'll let you know how they are when I go out there.

Since it is wellington, I'm expecting a glass of champange, a botox injection, a small dog to carry around in a purse, and a MAMMOTH SUV as a loaner car while I'm getting my car serviced. We'll see if they deliver :)

I hear good things from Redline. They are on Pompano, I've been there and ran into Rennie at Moroso once. Cool guy.

Yes, I've been to Redline as well, and there are lots of good reviews about the shop in the "shop reviews" thread. The problem is theyre down in Pompano Beach, I live in Boynton Beach and work in Jupiter. Driving down there and getting picked up, then getting to work costs me almost as much as it would cost to go to the dealer in the amount of work I have to take off. If I drove into the dealer and picked up a loaner I'd actually get to work without wasting half a day. Not their fault, just too inconvenient for me.

At least in Wellington its sort of on my way to work and I can borrow my mother's extra car and be at work with only a lost hour or so.

Stopped by this morning. Guy knows his stuff, races an E30. Had a rull race E36 M3 up in the other bay. Have no idea how much he's going to rape me for in prices, but he's the only one thats found a very hard to detect bad bearing, so he's earned it. Just dropped it off this morning, so I'll let you know how the whole transaction goes when I pick it up.

Bad bearings are generally easy to track down.

So far I have done two, one on an E30 and the other on an E36. Ill tell you though, its a pain in the ass job.. Im glad you didnt bring it to my shop! lol

Actually, when I had the car up on the lift at this shop, we finally found the play in the bearing, and it was pretty quick too. You just had to yank on the wheel hard enough and it moved. Dunno why it wasnt picked up the first time around.

Anyway, its done now, guy did a good job for a good price. Still hasn't fixed the damn vibration, and its really really starting to bug me because I've been throwing money at this car left and right.

Overall I'd say it was a good experience and I will probably make this shop my first stop for tough problems, which usually isnt much. Most of the work I have to have done involves tires, balancing, or alingments, none of which this shop (or any other decent ones for that matter) do, so if you're looking for that, this won't help.

Guy does know his racing though. I'll post up a review of his shop and the contact information in the "Shop Reviews" thread.
