So I was bored last night... decided to go out for a spin to the store. Ip ull up at a light and about 30 seconds later this kid pulls up next to me with his girl in the car. A mustang with some huge exhaust... thing was so loud it was shakin' my car with it's rumble. I have an evil grin on my face hoping this guy wants to play.

Light goes green... not sure if he wanted to play or not, I accelerate without drama, but briskly. As soon as I hear his engine start to roar I nail first... about 4000rpm. Quick change to 2nd then 3rd... he's about two cars behind. I slow down after the 3rd gear change... let him pull up next to me and give him that 'I just whooped your ass grin'. He girlfriend is in the car, doesn't seem to impressed with the bright yellow mustang anymore.

Just as I'm done grinning, the look ahead and another traffic light turns red. He he... time to check this guy into the smack down hotel again.

This time at the light, he's revving like crazy so I know he's going to drop the hammer as soon as the light goes green. I rev at him once and turn my focus to the green light. Light goes green and I drop the hammer at 1500rpm (I know I should do it higher, but I got Kumhos... wish I had S02s). With a smaller chirp, I'm rocketing forward. I hear him smoking up the tires squealing like crazy. By 3rd gear I'm about 3 cars ahead.

I slow down again, let him and his girl catchup... give him that 'i just whooped your ass grin again' and took my two fingers and made pretend I was marking them on the wall 'two points for me -- none for you'. Mean while, his girlfriend is smiling and me and pointing at my car. I laughed.

After this, I realized I passed the store ... DOH! So I made a Uturn and continued about my business... Ahhh... the night life.

Anybody know when the movie fast and furious opens?

nice kill...I love it when the girl in the other car gives you that big smile after the race (when her boyfriend isnt lookin;))

just wait til you get the turbo..you'll be eating mustangs for breakfast, lunch and dinner on a regular basis.

It was supposed to open in March sometime but it was postponed till sometime in early Summer. I have spoken to a few who have seen the "raw" unfinished sneak preview, and they said that it was <b>awesome</b>. And one of the guys is a hardcore f-body owner, and he also agreed that the chase scenes in this movie are the best he's ever seen. We shall see...

Oh man I love these stories! I'm thinking should I modify my stock E36 M3 (1997) with the basics (intake, exhaust, chip, etc....) or save up and get a Turbo-charger or Super-charger? Is it worth the $$$ or would it be better off getting a Viper? :) Would appreciate comments. I went on a Malibu Run today in Southern California and there was an M3 with a Supercharger and I was behind him while running through the canyons and I couldn't keep up on straightaways. :( But the run was fun nonetheless.

Gio, was teh supercharged car a purple 2-door? I met a guy with one at a meet in Santa Monica a few weeks back. Nice guy.

Nah Pete it wasn't me. I think he's talking about Scott, with the black 2-door. He also is s/cd.

I was also at the Malibu run. The supercharged M3 was a purple coupe, with a license plate that read "8ON"

I had a chat with him... he has the RMS stage 2 kit with aftercooler and oil cooler. He said they dynoed it to 360whp.

Man did that car sound nice... it's making me think hard about getting one too

Yeah that's right. It was a Techno Violet M3 (with Racing Dynamics Strut bar) and boy did it sound nice when he "dropped the hammer". I got a chance to really test my driving skills following him on the turns and was able to stay with him............UNTIL we got to a straight-away. Then he just got smaller and smaller in front of me. He was a nice guy, gave some good pointers on what mods to do. Overall the Malibu Run was fun M3 Pete. You should come next time so you can see how "red" my car really is after a nice wax! :)
