Yep, the VIN says it's a 535iS. However, not much is known about the e34 535iS so for most folks this is just a 535i 5 speed. Black on black. Title is clean and clear.

I'm asking $4k. VIN is WBAHD1316NBF12911. Lots of upgrades and newness. Read on.

Features:
+ 5 Speed Manual Tranny
+ Factory heated and powered front seats
+ Factory keyless remote/alarm
+ 163k miles on odometer: 84k miles on engine top-end, 350 miles on new clutch.
+ Car is chipped with DINAN knock-off chip--claimed 45 hp and 22 ft*lb of torque performance gain, ups rev limiter to 7k. Stock BMW chip included.
+ Elegantly Upgraded Stereo System
~ Lifetime XM radio subscription
~ Pioneer 200W XM/MP3/CD Head Unit
~ Infinity Reference speakers w/passive crossovers all around
~ Under-carpet (correctly run) 5V Sub RCA Pre-Outs from head unit & 8 gauge power lead from battery run into trunk
~ Stock BMW tape player radio included to restore stock look if preferred
+ Black exterior w/original paint, Black leather interior. Black headliner and rear shelf.

The Good:
+ Clean CarFax. No history of wrecks or fenderbenders. Body seams line up very well.
+ Always been a rust-free southern car. It's been in Atlanta, non-coastal Alabama, and Southeast TN.
+ Known and documented maintenance history for last 83k miles.
+ Cold A/C, Hot Heat. Both come on quickly. All vent positions and blower positions work correctly.
+ Just completed complete clutch replacement and had many oil seals and transmission seals replaced in the process:
~ New Sachs clutch kit w/new pilot bearing
~ New slave cylinder

+ Sunroof and all power windows work. One-touch works. Sunroof control rerouted to center console.
+ No lit dummy lights, passes Hamilton Co. emissions

The Bad + Disclosed Normal Wear & Tear:
+ Driver's door seal has 2" of wear on the seal (normal wear, see pictures)
+ Minor separation of rear vinyl door panel coverings, not enough to be "floppy". Quote to fix: $50 / door + tax.
+ Some dings (4) and minor dents (3, rear left 1/4 panel). Hood not original (original hood had three large basketball-sized dents in it).

Truly, I really don't know what makes mine special apart from the VIN telling me it's an iS. Wikipedia has a very quick blurb--iS has the limited slip 3.91 and different trim.

I can conclusively say that mine is incredibly sexy, perhaps sexier than all other 535i or 535iS... until I'm driving someone else's 535i.

Forgot to add--put in new transmission mounts with the clutch and tranny seals. Engine mounts have been done as well (40k miles old).

Willing to trade/partial trade for something as cool or cooler than a 1992 535iS, something 2-door preferred. Currently seeking out a mid- to high-mileage 2.8 Z3, 1997-1999 ('old' body style).

Cash is always a fine option, it comes with less deferred maintenance than a trade :)

$3600 is a good offer, thanks! We'll see what this weekend brings. I have two local folks who are pondering counteroffers and one coming in from out of town who I promised I'd hold it for him until he could take a look. I recommend coming to town but I know it's a long haul from Colorado. I'll PM you this weekend if it doesn't sell for closer to my asking.

'85, good year for the XJS. Is it the 5.3 HE with the P-Jet? I've worked on exactly one of those to replace the fuel rail hoses (common, from what I found). Throw me some pictures. I'll email you.

Nope! Don't want a timing belt... I might consider a 200k+ mi e39 or e38 with a few needs for a trade.
