View Full Version : 15" Kopi wheel sale BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 03:27 PM http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=12637656#post12637656 OldGray320i 04-04-2008, 04:22 PM Boss, What's the offest on the E21 wheel? Thanks. BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 04:36 PM 20mm - same as E30. Boss, What's the offest on the E21 wheel? Thanks. blitzed310 04-04-2008, 04:38 PM 20mm is incorrect. Stock offset is et12-13 20mm will require hub-centric spacers in the front to clear the tie rods on a 7" wheel, however 6.5" may clear but I can not verify this. You may be able to get away with no spacer on the rear. Do these have a 57.1mm centerbore? BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 04:45 PM Customers that bought them reported not needing spacers but you should be safe with 5mm spacers in front. They have a 67mm bore and come with 4 hubcentric rings to reduce it to 57.1mm. 20mm is incorrect. OldGray320i 04-04-2008, 05:06 PM For some reason or other in previous threads I thought you had the et13 offset, and was hoping I was just verifying that. The cost adder if spacers are to be used makes the deal a bit less appealing. I'll ponder.... BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 05:30 PM We've also sold 17" x 7.5" ET20 Kopi wheels to E21 owners with no rubbing issues (no spacers used), so there is no reason why the 20mm offset 15" x 6.5" Kopi wheels should not work without spacers. TheNeek 04-04-2008, 06:31 PM ^ Thats very, very unlikely. agreed... 17's might clear the tie rods... 15's don't BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 06:42 PM You may be correct - we've sold quite a few sets of the 15" Kopis to E21 owners - not sure if they used spacers in front. This photo is of a customer's car with 17" Kopis and no spacers - before it was lowered. http://members.shaw.ca/nick86/day_kopi.jpg agreed... 17's might clear the tie rods... 15's don't TheNeek 04-04-2008, 06:49 PM 17's are quite possible. 15's at that much of an offset will get AWFULLY close to the tierod. It might be possible. But that's pushing it. I've seen pics of E21's using Kosei K1's, which were 15x7 ET20, I don't recall the threads they were in mentioning spacers, so I imagine it should work. If I believe the simple math I did, relative to wheel/fender spacing those 15x6.5 would sit just where my 14x6's do spacing wise. That's good for the fronts, but I'd like the rears to come a bit farther out. I don't suppose you have 15x7's in that wheel? Btw, those 17's are ugly on the E21, but to each his own. BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 07:12 PM They only come in 15" x 6.5" and yes, I agree, the 17's don't look good on the car but looked a lot better after the owner lowered it. Those wheels look like FWD wheels. BMWE34M5 04-04-2008, 07:41 PM This looks pretty good to me: http://homepage.mac.com/grapeos/kopi.JPG http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/attachments/3-series-e21-e30/7150-aplina-rims-alpina_kopis.jpg? skyflyer 04-04-2008, 09:35 PM Those look okay. But I think each to his own I guess I still prefer wheel with lip like BBS RS, OZ Futura, Borbet, etc. bastianblessing 04-05-2008, 04:19 AM This looks pretty good to me: http://homepage.mac.com/grapeos/kopi.JPG http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/attachments/3-series-e21-e30/7150-aplina-rims-alpina_kopis.jpg? Yeah well that is not an E21. Jester323 04-05-2008, 12:34 PM http://members.shaw.ca/nick86/day_kopi.jpg that's a train wreck. Sorry BMWE34M5 04-05-2008, 12:46 PM I agree 100% that the 15" Kopis look better on the E21. that's a train wreck. Sorry |
