were do i check my trans fuild and were do i add it i think i am be leaking it :help:help:help

the owner manuel said it never needs to be change :nono is thATS crazy or what i still need to check it please help

You have to get under the car and add fluid until it comes out the fill plug, which is on the side of the transmission. I also wholeheartedly concur, never changing the fluid is absurd, but that is what they say to do. Of course, this could also be a potential reason why so many post-90 BMW autos tend to grenade at about 100k.

its just marketing bull$hit from bmw making you think these things will last a lifetime without service ..so they dont have to fix it ,,and then they catch you when you hit over 100k after your warrenty runs out and your paying 4k for a new one ....

Just had my inde replace AT Fluid at 120k; It is supposed to be filled and checked while the engine is running. Kind of hard to do unless you have the right equipmt

There's a bit more to the fluid check than simply adding fluid to the fill port. The car must be level, the engine idling and A/C engaged, the transmission fuild temp must be between 30 & 50C, and the transmission in park after cycling through all gears. Fluid is then added until a small stream is flowing from the fill port.
