Weds morning my car didn't want to start and it has been sitting in my driveway since. The night before after I left Jags, the service engine light came on during the drive home. The next morning my car doesn't start. It turns over but doesn't start. I have no clue what it could be and was hoping that using a code reader I might find out. I also noticed that the inspection light is on. I thought about doing some of the inspection stuff a few weeks ago but haven't gotten to it yet. The car has 66K miles.

Does anyone have a code reader that they are willing to let me borrow. Some help would be nice too, but it seems that there aren't many people in south arlington.

Thanks for offering and that's not far at all. Before I read your reply I stopped at autozone and borrowed their obdII code reader.

I found to codes that seem to be common but I don't it's hard to narrow it down.
The codes are P0171 and P0174. They say system too lean bank 1 & 2. From a quick google search it seem that the oxygen sensors in those banks are throwing the code. One of them is pending while the other doesn't say a thing. Suggested recommendations are to clean the MAF sensor, which I don't know where it is.

On a side note, my dad says that he started my car fine this morning and drove it for a while and restarted it a few times. I tried to start it when I got home from work but It didn't start again.

I just realized you have an 01, I do not have the adapter for anything newer as I have the older scanner...
