Just purchase my first 2001 330Ci convertible from the good old USA. Nightmare getting it back here in Canada, but so worth it. It also came with matching hardtop. I have been doing a little research on the rollover protection, even purchase the Bentley book for this vehicle, but does not explain much. I have heard a lot of people saying that the bars might or might not penetrate the hardtop when deployed. Does anyone have the exact measurement when deployed? Also, the Bentley manual stated in one of it's caution "If a hardtop is mounted, be sure to install the protective roll-over bar covers provided with the hardtop to prevent damaging rear window in case of deployment." Does anyone know what these covers look like and also where can they be purchase?
