07/03/08 update with a few pics in post #22...Took it out to Reno-Fernley and Thunderhill recently. Car may be for sale soon! I was going to aim for Spec E36 with this car. Please contact me if you're interested! Lots of goodies that can go with the car.

Had some time and thought I would post my track day and autox build. Feels a little out of place among all the other competition builds going on here since mine is not for any racing yet, but figured I would post it anyway for anyone interested to show that you can build a relatively simple 325is for all around track days and autox's and have tons of fun doing it.
Started out by picking up a '92 325is. It only had 124k miles on the chassis and motor! Carfax looked to check out just fine for mileage and clean title. Interior and exterior weren't in the best of shape...dog hair, sand, and scratches all over the inside and the exterior had dents and scratches here and there, along with peeling clear coat and fading paint almost everywhere. Seemed like a perfect track car candidate to me.
Pic when I first picked it up, after I installed the front half of the Vorshlag 80mm stud kit:

Threw it on the dyno, all stock except for Cosmos intake, threw down 167rwhp and 157rwtq Dynojet:

Few of the parts...most of them were taken off my M3, which I just replaced with other parts. I bought a Dinan chip for cheap and threw that in, the muffler is debaffled (and has a few holes in it) so it's somewhat loud, but not really; might stop there with the motor. I sent it to TC Design to do a rear half of a roll cage for me, and they did a great job. Some of the more notable things are TCK S/A's, Kosei K1's on Potenza RE-01R 245 all around, Recaro PP on VAC floor mounts w/ Schroth Profi-II harnesses, sunroof/headliner delete, etc. Running stock rotors on Hawk HP+, but will move to something more aggressive later on.

I spent a while accumulating parts little by little and slowly doing work when I could find time. I just got it into somewhat ready form for an autox this past weekend. This is what she looks like now. Still need to install the rear sway bar (got sent the wrong one), LSD, gauges, and a few other things, and dial it all in a little. No vinyl yet in these pics, the car looks plain! :)

So nothing too extreme or competitive, just a track day/autox day build. I'm hoping this car will take me there eventually. I'll be taking this car out to run as often as I can, and as often as money will allow. I'll evaluate my skills at the end of this season (whenever I decide that to be) and see where I'm at. Hopefully this car can take me to when I decide I want to get into racing, if I can get to that level.
Also wanted to mention Edge Motorworks, the crew has helped me a lot with the progression of this car. Hopefully I will be sporting some vinyl soon! Comments and questions are always welcome. :) Cheers, guys.
