That's awesome:eyecrazy justaddcoffee 04-03-2008, 09:43 AM that's some classic motorhead crazy! i love it! got psi 04-03-2008, 09:54 AM I remember that and lived it. I used to build Rocket powered racecars and jet cars. The afterburner I built for the worlds fastest boat still hlods the record one way speed 327mph, and the two way of 319. I remember being at the local track with the rocket running over 300 mph when the fuelers were still under 230mph. nice find ///J.T./// bennyfizzle 04-03-2008, 09:58 AM HAHAHA that's AWESOME. ///MEric 04-03-2008, 01:28 PM I want one of those. '96 E36 M3 04-03-2008, 01:57 PM If the rumors about people blowing themselves up were true, it's not surprising the company went out of business in '69. I'd say there were some long-term 'survivability' issues inherent in their designs. Another hilarious part of the article was that people strapped those micro-rockets to their karts and did in excess of 150 mph. Wonder if they bothered with seat belts? Nj85'325 04-03-2008, 02:06 PM Where can I find one for an E30 Small case? RazorEdge 04-03-2008, 02:25 PM That is F**King Awesome! God I want one of those Rocket Axles soooo bad! ///MEric 04-03-2008, 02:52 PM Where can I find one for an E30 Small case? how about a group buy for a bunch Nj85'325 04-03-2008, 03:33 PM how about a group buy for a bunch :nono:shifty ///MEric 04-03-2008, 03:55 PM :nono:shifty but i wanna go bat shit fast :shifty Nj85'325 04-03-2008, 04:18 PM but i wanna go bat shit fast :shifty you wanna go to the e30 section, where the joke died 3 months ago... BTW, you going FI? Plans, parts, write up? Im curious to see your progress. RazorEdge 04-03-2008, 05:43 PM :nono:shifty allright, but, all shifty's and nono's aside, I really, really need to get my hands on one of those rocket axles....:devillook Edit: (and no, it's not for my E36...) wingshot 04-03-2008, 06:11 PM One of the few surviving Turbonique drag karts was on Ebay last year. It was a wicked-looking little suicide machine, with skinny little tires and no roll cage whatsoever. Opening bid was somewhere in the $50,000 range, if I recall. I don't think it sold. Seller allowed no test drives, surprisingly. el bob 04-03-2008, 06:49 PM I'd kill to work for a company like that. 5mall5nail5 04-03-2008, 06:54 PM I'd probably get killed by something in a company like that. Haha fixed! That stuff is crazy! And dangerous, and they didn't even care - I want. RazorEdge 04-03-2008, 09:14 PM haha I love the reference to the good 'ol game of "automotive Chicken" that they mentioned in that article... classic. got psi 04-03-2008, 11:35 PM Even if you got one the fuel would be really hard to get. They might put you on terrorist watch just for having the fuel. LOL ///J.T./// StreuB1 04-03-2008, 11:37 PM heehee.....i loveth rockets Ky is awesome....one of the craziest people Ive had the pleasure to work with. They might put you on terrorist watch just for having the fuel. LOL ///J.T./// No problemo here... I think I'm already on that list anyway, lol besides, you can always whip up a batch of fuel in your garage, right? mess with the ratios a little bit, and you could develop an even more powerful fuel:evil2:devillook or you could blow your garage sky-high.... |
